Baseless attacks come with the territory. People don't like hearing things that contradict their way of viewing things, because they think they are being told they are wrong.

And let's be fair...Trump didn't do much to work with the other party (but he *did* meet with both Schumer and Pelosi after funding for his wall looked like it could be horsetraded with support for Dreamers, which Trump was absolutely willing to yield on).

Obama didn't work with the other party, either. He said "elections have consequences." That was incredibly stupid, and he's a very smart man.

We are at the point where it looks like there doesn't need to be any compromise...except, to modify Obama's statement, "Presidential records have consequences, too."

You missed my point. Obama didn't give up anything to get those GOP votes. A lot of them came from political necessity.

Hey...Obama *did* meet with Mitt Romney to have a "beer summit," so technically he did work with the opposition. Except I can't think of a single idea that Romney floated that Obama adopted. It was largely symbolic, and completely unproductive.

A jury trial gets underway in D.C. today for a Missouri man charged with multiple felonies in connection with the Capitol riot, including injuring an officer with a tent pole.
