I would guess that in Sally's world, that woodshed is exempt from all federal laws, regulations, and oversight of any kind.....just like Texas!
You're a smart one, Sally !!!
I don't have to argue this ... I come out on the top ALWAYS.
You did well to let this one die. But really, educate yourself... you can start by reading the Constitution's Supremacy Clause. All you have to do is click and read. I promise it's very short.
You lefties really struggle to differentiate between reality and what you wish was reality.
Newsom isn't even liked in California. When is the last time a governor who's own state didn't like him ran in a nationwide race and exceeded his popularity in his own state??
Doesn't matter because he'd be running against the stone cold loser trump. Your guy lost to an even older dude who didn't even campaign. Talk about not being in touch with reality.
If I had to bet (I don't bet), Newsome will run in 2028. IF he wins the Democrat nomination he will likely lose to a then rejuvenated GOP...with Trump gone, a change election after Biden's second term, and then a likely downturn in the economy (this booming economy isn't likely to continue for 4 more years). Not sure who the GOP will put up...that will be interesting to see, but a single party doesn't typically have 3 consecutive WH terms...though Reagan and Bush Sr. got that done...with Bush Sr. only in for one term of course.

Newsome v DeSantis in 2024, but the damage Trump has done to the GOP may out weight the 3 consecutive terms situation.
Trump will lose in November, and I would imagine the GOP will lose more in Congressional races due to being tied to Trumpism.
The GOP has imploded. It is a party bereft of ideas. Just being against what the other party wants is not an idea.

GOP is imploding, keeping the border chaotic on purpose and punching our allies in the face and the news media is protecting it.
Brian Schatz @brianschatz · 11h I think if Democrats were holding up funding for the defense of three allies unless we got an unrelated thing, and then we said no to the very thing we demanded because our nominee told us to kill it, that the media would justifiably go thermonuclear on us.

Am I the only one thoroughly enjoying the vast difference between the US Judicial system and Fox News?
We saw this take place when Trump and his carnival crew of liars and grifters were peddling the big lie to the American people all over cable news. It sounded so convincing. And the liars were so sure of themselves. But when they went to court to argue election fraud, their hands were tied because they couldn't just make up sh!t and lie?
Once again we see the same thing with Alina Habba. Super duper attractive and effective on Fox News. Yet in court where they are used to stifling BS, spin, distraction and diversion she is a complete failure for Donnie.
These future court cases are going to be a nightmare for Trump and his "Joe Biden, political witch hunt and Jack Smith deranged lunatic deep state" defense strategy.
But the good news for Donnie is that Alina Habba will still be on his team.
Reminder of why authoritarians knee cap any fair/objective judicial system. And Trump and his sycophants have certainly primed Trumplandia to believe that blowing up the judicial system is necessary. And they ONLY need sufficient mouth-breather votes in a few key states in November to pull it off. Depressing as hell.
So Texas is basically defying the federal government and taking illegal actions at the border every day, and tzees support that. This used to be the law and order party, lolz. The federal government has nearly exclusive authority over matters of immigration and border security. That is the law of the land. Tzees don't respect this. Maybe they can GTFO if they don't like it.
"Falling inflation, rising growth give U.S. the world’s best recovery"
Since 2020, the United States has powered through a once-in-a-century pandemic, the highest inflation in 40 years and fallout from two foreign wars. Now, after posting faster annual growth last year than in 2022, the U.S. economy is quashing fears of a new recession while offering lessons for future crisis-fighting.
“The U.S. has really come out of this into a place of strength and is moving forward like covid never happened,” said Claudia Sahm, a former Federal Reserve economist who now runs an eponymous consulting firm. “We earned this; it wasn’t just a fluke.”
“The U.S. has seen a particularly strong GDP recovery and inflation has cooled sooner and more quickly than in other large, advanced economies. And the increase in real wages is unique to our country’s recovery,” Treasury Secretary Janet L. Yellen said in a Chicago speech last week.

Texas is 100% sovereign. Sally said so.
needless to say, Trump's allies in the Kremlin have dedicated their troll farms to supporting Texas in its secessionist ways. The GOP can always depend on Vladimir Putin to have its back.

I'm not going to read that. It says "Cornell." I've HEARD of Cornell, and it's a prestigious university. I much prefer the random-words information/"news" sources that the Trumpers push to us.
Periodic Helpful "It's all relative" Lesson for the Trumpers: Yes, Cornell is full of liberals, and in the non-hard sciences, there's certainly PLENTY of liberal bias. And DESPITE that, ANYTHING coming out of, say, their law school, is almost certainly 100% more credible than 99% of what you guys post from random, COMPLETELY untrustworthy info/news sources.
Easy enough for you morans to understand, right ?
Hell, let's put it another way: America INSTANTLY turning into the most liberal country in western Europe is infinitely preferable to it turning into what TRUMP wants.
Also very easy to understand, right ?
One last educational thought: Perhaps starting tomorrow, THE number one priority of American K12 education ought to be this: Teaching a fully-functioning understanding of the word "relative."
And roughly half of the posters on this board would SERIOUSLY need to go back and partake.

.....not to mention - MUCH, MUCH more importantly - fully ~45% of American voters.
Article states that progressives are fuming about this, and makes the claim it's a Clinton-esque compromise to garner support for his re-election bid. It also says he wants to attract independents and Republicans.
Clinton won re-election because of an improving economy and a weak opponent (Senator Bob Dole, who once answered the question "How are you going to lower taxes and balance the budget?" with something like "We'll just do it."). Clinton also worked with the other party, crafting welfare reform and "tough on crime" bills that made most hard-core democrats feeling sick.
Biden has not even made an effort to work with the other party, and he has no intention of doing so. Instead, he's going to use the same playbook from the 2022 midterms, demonizing his opponent. (Hey....it worked then!) Will we discover a new, more power breed of Trump devotees: the "Ultra-ELITE-[you know]?" Stay tuned and find out...
Soup season is upon us, and it’s time to grab some spoons and celebrate. But which direction do you go in a category so tremendously vast? Is it a chicken...

Good chance he is your candidate and none of you Dems can spell his name correctly? Just embarrassing.
