We don't have the text messages, so we also don't know for certain that this rep wanted soldiers to keep Trump in power. When Trump used federal agents to enforce consequences for the people in progressive states who treated it like the wild west, that wasn't why he was doing it. He was doing it because they were committing crimes with impunity. Many of them receive trials, were acquitted and/or were released without charges (you can hold someone for 72 hours without a writ of habeas corpus, or reason for holding them...and, as an aside, Abraham Lincoln suspended this right during his administration when the Civil War was raging, so he's more dictator-like that the person you seem to despise more than everyone else in this country)

Lastly, when was the last time someone in an opposition party apologized and was granted forgiveness? Can you think of a simple example? Here are are a couple on the Dem side: Elliot Spitzer, former Attorney General and shoe-in for governor, if he didn't have the habit of cheating on his wife with prostitutes. In the same state, Mario Cuomo. His office is now occupied by Kathy Hochol, and his Presidential ambitions are worthless.

Tldr; you get nowhere apologizing, and it is used as an admission of guilt. Trump figured this out a long time ago. Hence, he never does it.

nah GOP voters are completely ignorant of actual policy. they don't care. They've been voting against their self interest for generations out of ignorance. You tell the typical R voter that her party has been trying to dismantle health insurance for decades, against medicare expansion, handing tax cuts to rich people and corporations, against free lunches for hungry kids, for tariffs that American consumers must pay, against infrastructure spending, etc and they won't believe you.

All the typical R voters thinks is 'black people ! Dems are crazy on the border and crime! I don't need to know anything else!'

Actual policy doesn't matter to Trump voters.

So how does Mitch McConnell go from being a strong supporter of Ukraine to now simply saying "Oh well, deal is dead but it is what Trump wants us to do". (Paraphrasing).

I think he knows what he is doing in pinning it on Trump. We will see.

I want to bring up something very relevant, and I ask that you consider it without prejudice. Prior to the reports that Putin helped Trump get elected, Rolling Stone journalist Matt Taibi hated Trump more than you do. Then he looked at what was going on and decided that it was fundamentally undemocratic. Trump may never will the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian prize, but Taibi felt he was legitimately elected. He thought it was wrong that officials in the government were doing everything they could to jettison him from power. You're probably OK with that. But I reject your premises, and I hope you can learn to be OK with that, too.

People like Adult are convinced that the tax cuts for corporations will strengthen those corporations, thus creating better paying jobs. They genuinely believe this.

This strategy does work really well in third world countries trying to become first world countries. In the United States, it’s more or less an attempt for the rich to suck up as much money as humanly possible regardless of impact. It’s all they really know how to do. It’s a game to win or lose.

You're working with feelings instead of facts as always.

I encourage you to find a website you don't think is propaganda and look up what the corporate tax rates are in other countries.

Prior to Trump's tax cuts the US had 3rd highest corporate tax rates on the planet. Lowering these taxes is about being able to compete with the competition not the class warfare you lefties are absolutely obsessed with.
