not a scandal, a mistake.

It's so tone deaf and stupid. The Republicans have one guy who African Americans revere, so he gets thrown in to everything. And he was 150 years ago. That's what they do for Black History Month? The best they can do? A white guy?

It's just stupid and shows so little understanding of anyone but white people. It shows the GOP is the white peoples' party and not a lot more.

I am glad Mr. Trump doesn't waste time worrying about "mistakes" like tweeting about Lincoln on the wrong day. I judge him on what he gets done. We elected him to get things done and to do that you can't be a perfectionist afraid of making a misstep. Some people would rather elect career politicians who always say the right, politically correct words and phrases, and get nothing done. Some of us have had enough of that.

Flynn clearly breaking the law negotiating with a hostile power when not an official of the USA - while Obama was negotiating one thing, Flynn was telling Russia not to worry - Trump will fix it. That's basically treason. and against the logan act.

Below is the interview with Conway. You are blowing it out of proportion. She was asked about Ivanka and while she was talking about her for a while, she mentioned to go buy her stuff once. Hardly a scandal. She may have inadvertently violated some ethical standard, but it was the main point of the interview to peddle her stuff.

The libs are trying to paint the Trump administration a certain way. It is politics.

Spicer said that Flynn spoke to Ambassador Sergie Kislyak on the phone with the intent to setup a call from President Putin and Trump. While he was not in an official capacity, he was the a national security advisor to Trump. What was talked with the Russian ambassador is not clear to me. If you know better let me know. This act is not what I think of when treason is mentioned. It sounds like politics to me.

The law you are talking about is from 1799 and has never been prosecuted in 200 years.

conway was "counseled" by the Trump administration, meaning that they recognized her action violated the law but aren't going to take it seriously. (her husband is actually looking like the last man standing for another position in the administration right now).

Flynn did violate that 1799 law and while it hasn't been prosecuted for 200 years, it is a law (isn't the rule of law important to conservatives?) and it's been confirmed by 9 intelligence sources that they have the actual transcript of the telephone call, which took place on the very same day that the Obama Administration announced more sanctions against the Russians for the email hacking. He lied about it apparently to Mike Pence and someone else in the administration. I believe that he will have to resign over this. This is shades of Reagan's secret deal with Iran (arms for hostages) prior to the 1980 Presidential Election.

for those of us who appreciate a government limited by law and rules, it is very worrying.

It is also very worrying to the REPUBLICAN chair of the House Oversight Committee, who told the WH that Conway clearly broke the rule and should be penalized. And te chair, Chaffetz, is a total partisan hack, so you know Conway had to do something serious for him to say something.

Flynn's offense is bad enough that the Justice department told the WH that he could be blackmailed for it. Because obviously Russia knew Flynn had broken the law. Treason is working against your country. We know exactly what Flynn said - he is such a moron that he didn't know he call was being recorded, as all calls to Russian diplomats are. And we know he negotiated against the president of the United States. Obama was trying to do one thing, while Flynn was undermining him. That's not politics - that's treason. There is only one president at a time.

And then Flynn was stupid enough to lie to the VP about the conversation even tho he should have known it was being recorded by our spy services and his lie would be easily shown. No doubt Flynn will lie to us again - he has now shown his character and lost his honor.

And the bigger question is this - did Trump tell Flynn to negotiate against Obama? That would lift this up to the oval office. Is it a high crime or misdemeanor? Probably.

So first your 'so what' excuse is shameful and inappropriate in a democratic republic. And second you are lightfooting what Flynn did.

Bottom line is that Trump has been breaking laws and rules for most of his career. He and his people will continue to break laws rules and norms and lie, because that is the standard he sets.

You want to be on the side of that, fine - but don't pretend you are a conservative. Conservatives don't look the other way like you are doing.

What Flynn did, talk to the Russians, is not treason. It *may* have broken some outdated law nobody has even been prosecuted for.
