Yeah it was nice but everything she said was wrong. The person who got all the eyes on the 400hs was sitting right beside her lol. What a joke. If Syd and Bol ever leave the 400 hurdles then they’ll see the interest die.
She’s so good when she tries ha. She admitted in so many words she was going through the motions to run 52s. Femke sticking with the 400H remains kinda insane.
Not the least bit insane. She's clearly the second best in the world.
Unless she's really sure she could be number one in the open 4, it's a debatable proposition.
Also, Cockrell and Jones with 52.6x and 52.7x. This event has definitely changed after stagnating for decades. Thank you, Muhammad and McLaughlin for helping to drag everyone else to excellence.
Utterly wild to think those could've been world-leading times not that long ago, and now they need freaking binoculars to see Sydney 50 meters down the track.
No shame in Dalilah Muhammed bowing out with this as her last Olympic Trials
One of the most celebrated, storied, and accomplished careers ever
Very sad for her that she becomes the best in the world, doesn't ever really get the full attention she deserves, and then gets obliterated by freaking Godzilla.
(Kovacs and a few others have obviously experienced varying degrees of the same thing.)
Track and life are not fair.
Fortunately for Dalilah, as she said the other day, she was lucky enough to get a solid long-term contract as a youngster, so that makes it a little less brutal, but still.
Yeah, interesting arc. She's a former world and Olympic champion, plus plenty of other big meet medals. But thrust into permanent second fiddle status when Sidney emerged. I made the Kovacs comparison the other day - he was a two time world champion and was equal with Crouser for a while but then Crouser just went to a higher gear and Kovacs has been a step behind ever since. Kudos to Dalilah on her great career.

That was a sneaky WR. She took OFF that last 70-80 or so. Reminded me a lot of Wayde Van Niekerk’s 400 where they were both having strong races and just went crazy at the end.
She put like 5 meters on them just from the last hurdle. It's completely insane.
She looked smooth as hell too, I know you can't just assume there's more in reserve but there's no way Kersee has her training to peak at trials. Sub-50 felt unthinkable a few years ago but now it's a real possibility in Paris.
All due respect to Femke but she's running for second

She’s really sure she can’t be in the 400H if Sydney is running. In the 400, again I’d argue she could be but she’d have to commit to it fully. Paulino is good, but she has never gone faster than 48.76.
Oh no, Parker Wolfe is signing the Eiffel Tower replica. Did James Corrigan sign it? I need to figure out if this is lucky or not. Someone on twitter is saying he's writing "Good luck, Graham."
Wait, what's the deal there? Graham has the standard from that BU race in December?

Yep. Though, incredibly, Kovacs has continued getting better, too. It's not entirely impossible he could beat Crouser on a given day.
No one's beating Sydney unless she stops to smoke a cig between hurdles 8 and 9.
Why? She’s guaranteed a silver medal as long as she doesn’t fall. Plus much more attention, followers and then endorsements just by being Syd’s “rival”. She in no way would be guaranteed a gold in the flat 400
Nikki Hiltz YOU ARE AN OLYMPIAN. 7 U.S. finals and FINALLY this is your moment. No matter what transphobic and hateful sh!t these trolls throw your way - you rise above it all. Legit medal threat in Paris after that race.
Downvote this all you want. Nikki has had to deal with so much negativity and hate in their life. For simply trying to live life as themselves. So proud of you.
what I admire is Nikki hasn't let it affect her. Nikki is sweet, intelligent and a brave and courageous athlete. GO NIKKI!

It's a sure silver vs. something where you might be the best, but you're really not sure. (And I'd bet there's some girls in the 48's this year.)
It's a very debatable proposition. She should do whatever the hell she wants to do, and it'll be a blast to watch her in either or both.
Damn right. This is a great freaking track meet. (And it makes it hard to imagine there's really not a wider audience for the sport if it wasn't being run by a bunch of freaking self-dealing criminals.)

Only if it involves testosterone. That is checked and there is no TUE. The officials do not care if somebody is taking estrogens and they are not PEDs.
Correct as I understand it.
IF Nikki or any other similar athlete ever decided to transition with the use of testosterone, their racing career are over. In that case, they’d be taking a performance enhancing steroid
Absolutely. In fact there was a long article about Nikki Hiltz who said they would like to take testosterone and transition to a male but as a professonal athlete, Nikki can not do it as they would be disqualified from ever competing again.

The other thing is the double is doable. She’d surely have to get the federation to relax her relay responsibilities to just finals. I don’t know I see the debate and it’s her choice but she’s going to be way behind Syd in Paris. In the 400m she’d be right there.
