So the cali girls race 4 weeks in a row if they run NXN?
Got it.
Yep. It’s a joke. And running Mt Sac twice, followed by Woodward is brutal… then they’re supposed to do well at NXN?!? It’s asinine that CA runs this gauntlet while much of the country has already run their regionals and they’re healing up and/or training directly for NXN over the next 3 weeks.
Bethlehem dominates the NYS meet going 2-3-4-5-6. Runs a team average of 17:55.7, dropping their team average by 40 seconds per runner compared to their race on the same course in September. They are looking better and better every race.

Whoa. That’s incredible. Is this better than Saratoga 2004?

Not even close.
First of all, their actual finish places were 6-7-8-12-14. And they have nowhere near the up-front firepower of 2004 Saratoga. That Saratoga team sent 4 girls to FL Nationals; Bethlehem likely wouldn't send one.
Looks like Rocky got their 6th in before pretty much anyone got their 4th in. I know that the Northwest is a very weak region for the girls, but where do people think Rocky/Lincoln could finish at NXN? The speed ratings look tentatively pretty good for Rocky in particular.
14:13 to 14:38 for FM ladies vs. 2024 Bethlehem top 5 of 14:40 to 15 flat with 4 running at 15 flat.
Also, if you did not know, SPAC course has changed. A major hill right after the 2nd mile is gone. It is now a smooth normal hill rise that substantially helps keep a good pace going. For 2019 SPAC, Saratoga girls ran on the older 'much much tougher' course with top 2 running 17:02 and 17:24. Other Saratoga girls times were: 17:41, 17:47, 17:53, 18:01, and 18:07 (7th runner was Emily bush who would go on to become USA #1 5th runner at NXN 2019 to secure the Saratoga victory). Bethlehem just has 5 runners. Further, the 2019 edition of Sectionals blasted out super hard; it was not an even paced race with perfect weather like the 2024 suburban council champs or Sectionals (Queensbury).
For fall 2024, I have never seen so many days full of limited rain and hard packed XC surfaces. Again, the fall 2024 Bethlehem team is very good, but no where near the FM fall 2017 team or Saratoga fall 2019 team. Peace!
2017 FM set the course record on VCP. Why did you use the most aggressive outlier to prove your point. The original claim was that this Bethlehem team has similar times to NXN winning toga and FM times.
2024 Bethlehem and and 2022 Toga have virtually the same Bowdin team time and '22 toga won nxn. I spent less than 5 mins on tullyrunners to confirm that.
I spoke to a true HS Expert today at the NYS meet. This 'legend' reminded me of the 2014 FM team. This girls team is the best template out there for a good compression top 5 to potentially win NXN. 2014 NXN results:

Agreed it would put at a disadvantage those top California runners that want to run in post-season championships. Didn’t Sean Brosnan withhold the Newbury Park runners out of the Cali State Champs one year in order to prime them for NXN?
Good question that I don’t know the answer to off the top of my head, but it was the dream team led by Colin Sahlman and/or the following year when Aaron placed first. Maybe they had special placement from prior year performance?
