In Baltimore, there was someone ranked around the 50th percentile in his class with a 0.13 GPA, and 41% of students there have a GPA under 1.0. Imagine them at UT Austin - they'd either fail immediately or have to switch to something like communications or a grievance studies major.

The average white IQ is 100, and the SD for IQ is 15. While 1 SD doesn't seem like much to the uninformed, it's absolutely huge: the 83rd percentile black IQ is the 50th percentile white IQ, and the 50th percentile Asian IQ is the 92nd percentile black IQ. If you don't see how this plays a role in success then I can't help you.
It also has massive ramifications for the cognitive elite: when you get to the 'generic' high (2 SD above: ~130 IQ) and then 3 SD above the gap becomes far more apparent. 3 SD has a z score of .9987, so it's the 99.87th percentile IQ, but 4 SD is the 99.997th percentile IQ. As for economic status, many elite universities, especially the Ivies do provide free and reduced tuition and room & board based on family income amounts.
If Affirmative Action is sad and racist, then explain why white did it for their benefit for over 400 years and now are upset, that they still don't get every admittance, every job and every position of power.

You are far from that. You are one real idiot. Who is getting admitted to UT or Harvard with abysmal grades? No one. The minority students at Harvard and UNC are graduating at the same rates as the general student body. And we all know that student-athlete graduation rates are higher than the general college student body.
And I didn't say they had 'abysmal' grades, but no non-quota filling student will get accepted with a decent GPA and SAT (mid 1300s SAT and the equivalent GPA). They're taking the deserved spots of far more accomplished students.
