I think Knighton would have had silver pretty easily with a better lane draw. He is a very tall guy to be starting in lane 3... plenty of battles ahead for him and Lyles
Ogando equalled the fastest ever fifth place finish with 19.93s. Josephus Lyle's ran that in the US championships this year. First time that there's 4 under 19.85 though. Previous fastest 4th place finish was Alonso Edwards 2015 in Beijing with 19.863.
Knighton looked visibly annoyed having to pose for all those pictures lol
He doesn't seem to enjoy that part of the job; seems naturally reserved. Though he is only 18 and I'm sure he'll get the hang of it - he may never love it, but it will become more autopilot for him.
The two best 200 m performances I’ve ever seen back to back. Jackson and Lyles dominated HIGH quality fields. Lyles put enormous pressure on himself and then came through. Epic, Bolt like. performance in that way. Loved how pumped SAFP was for Jackson. She looked as happy as she did when she won the 100 herself. Knighton did great overall and we just need to remember he’s 18 only.
Ant chance we get a WR heare? When bolt ran his WR, he didn't break 20.00 in the semis.
Just putting it out there. What was the wind in the women's race? 0.6 Might need it to pick it up. It's a DISGRACE though that Knighton is in lane 3. WHat a joke.
Why was he in lane 3? Is it based on semi times?
Knew he didn’t have a great chance when I saw that

Sydney was the same way at 16 when she first burst onto the global stage, and less so now. I like Noah, but I think there is room for all sorts of personalities in the sport.
Kung Fu Kenny and Abdi Nur were my faves for the evening.

Crazy thing is that Jackson was the only person in the field to set a personal best. Only other athlete to break 22 was SAFP. This makes me think that the conditions weren’t absolutely ideal. In perfect conditions and no rounds/semifinals, I think Jackson can get the world record
I hope that Moh Ahmed knew that he had a qualifying time after watching Heat 1 because otherwise that was a very uninspiring race from him, but it was only Heats I suppose.
