Current distance coach is part-time, so this should be a formality moving to full-time

Petros is in fact leaving UGA. Distance coach will not be an option for promotion its a jumps school lol

Stay tuned for a job opening at Michigan Tech. Admin finally decided to hire an assistant coach. They are looking for a someone with a distance background. Head coach is very inexperienced and needs help planning training. Any other track experience would help.

Why hire a head coach that knows nothing about track then?
This is why some areas of our sport are lacking.
They are primarily a distance school, with a good amount of the team participating in Nordic skiing instead of indoor.
Isn't the new head coach supposed to be distance oriented (although I know she has a Nordic background herself).
Michigan Tech job always seems to have a connection to their Nordic Ski program, which might be the real focus, so emphasis on that first.
Which is pretty insane, if you want to make a nordic hire make a nordic hire.
Too often theres cases in which the XC/ Track coach is the Assistant football, Volleyball, basketball, tennis coach. At the collegiate level thats a complete joke.
