Reminds me of a question I OFTEN ask myself (and wish I knew more about the plausibility): If and when the Democrats ever get complete control again, HOW FREAKIN' MANY new and SCOTUS-proof laws (and Amendments?!) will they need to write ?!?!?!
Aside from passing a budget, I think that maybe it should be ALL that that president and Congress does. Reflect on 8 years of Trump and ask, "HOW in HELL do we stop that from ever happening again ???"
Practical political considerations aside (and I'm sure that they're huge, too), I'm not a constitutional lawyer, so I have no idea how possible such an effort could be?
Probably nothing will happen. If the Dems had the house, senate and WH after Trump1 and J6 and did nothing, I'm sure they won't do anything next time they have all three. Everyone will say 'bring the nation together, don't tear it apart' so the Dems will go back to normal and the Rs will go back to the manosphere and podcasts and Facebook and continue their trip to Putinism.
But so many things need to happen

gerrymandering restricted
an immigration compromise
figure out the emoluments clause
forbid the exec branch from refusing to spend money on what the congress has allocated to
ideally change SCOTUS to 18 year terms instead of serving for life
put on paper how much force the WH is allowed to wield without congress
and of course, congres needs to insist the power to tax and tariff is theirs and theirs alone.
try other ways to get money out of politics. That is whack a mole but have to keep fighting that fight.

To keep it SCOTUS-proof, much of the above would have to be by amendment, I'm afraid. A long and difficult process.
Which somehow reminds me that statehood for the District and Puerto Rico would not require an amendment, but simple majorities in the House and Senate (and several other steps). Practically speaking, however, a "simple majority" in the Senate would have to be filibuster-proof, so we're talking 60 votes--not bloody likely in the foreseeable future.
[I think we could count on the District's electing two Democratic senators, but people who'd assume that Puerto Rico would do the same . . . don't know the island very well.]

Two people resorting to violence in politics and seem to have right wing leanings. Yet the DOJ is telling us nothing. Nothing. If these guys were left wingers the DOJ would have told us 24/7. I think we have to assume from its very loud silence that the DOJ has determined they were right wing nutjobs.
