Congressional Republicans have forced the US to halt aid to Ukraine. This is an entirely optional foreign policy disaster of epic proportions without a clear end in sight.

Only 6% of those voting for Trump in IA think these people are running clean elections because that's what the Republican Party tells them to think. Republicans have lost their minds.

I get that you don't like it (and am trying to be more civil than argumentative)...but where exactly is democracy failing here? Public sentiment has already turned against the war, after all...

Don't conflate the issues.

"Betrayal" is a strong word (and by strong I mean stupid) in this case. I would hardly call giving $110 billion in aid a betrayal. Anyways, nobody is actually talking about stopping funding of the war full stop, Republicans are temporarily using the issue as leverage to pass legislation on the current border crisis.

And we are talking about distrust of even Republican election officials! If not a trumper willing to manipulate the process to rig a win for trump, then they must be treasonous RINO deep state unpatriotic scum.

the Republicans don't want to end the border crisis because that would make Biden look good and take away the main thing the GOP is running on.

So the border crisis will not be solved and this insane linkage between the border and ukraine will make funding ukraine difficult to restart.

As for the word betrayal, if we do not continue to fund Ukraine, it will be recorded as a betrayal in history books. 100%.

Our one hope is a little sad...that the military industrial complex will make some urgent calls to Republicans in congress and tell them to get their foot off the brake. Remember, we're not handing bundles of cash over to Ukraine...US companies are making weapons in the US with US workers and shipping them over to Ukraine. I hate to root for the MIC but it might actually do right in this instance. Strange bedfellows.
