please stop watching his tragic POV crap. how many times can one guy pump out different vids of him banging it around Battersea Park in some tin-pot race/parkrun. truly embarassing.
guy needs to stop pumping out pointless dross and spend some time with his family. he makes enough money shilling running kit, copy and pasting out training programmes and jogging with the adidas fun runners to not have to do these dire videos
someone tell him to do less vids, and do something more interesting than what u eat in a day or lazy POV balls-deep parkruns. i used to be a viewer, cant take anymore
You need to read my new book: ‘Risk it for a biscuit: how I learned to stop worrying and love Nick Bester’
Yeah, agree. This guy is just looking for reactions. Love Nick Besters videos especially his POV running ones. His parkrun times are amazing. Love me my Best Athletics community too and feel invincible when in my BA kit. Just using BA training app curretnly and really made a difference to my parkrun times. The most recent Nick video was one of the best yet. It was so interesting to hear not just his thoughts but an elite professional runner (who Nick nearly beat), the amazing Rhi on the camera/bike and also Nicks new coach. Really hope he hits a new level with his coach and goes under 2:15 this year. If anyone deserves to qualify and represent GB at the olympics its him

0.1 / 10. nursery standard trolling. no-one loves lazy POV videos of a mediocre middle-aged man acting like hes the olympic champ.
the only youtube kings are THE TWO RUNNING BROOMS and FOD

Are you accusing someone else of trolling with that username? That poster is a bit over the top but I agree in principle with everything they say.
I agree with you that both those channels are excellent though

Anybody watch the big SJD AMA? Claims to discuss "Family FINANCES" in it, but no way am i sitting through 9 minutes (at 2x) listening to his bs.
No. We are talking about Nick Bester right now. Most people here haven't ever watched or care about SJD.
I'm a fan of Bester too. See a lot of local runners near me in Best Athletics gear at the moment and they do seem to have a good sense of community/togetherness. Bit like the Fordy runs crew which im a part of.
The Bester POV videos are a great watch imo - a lot of other youtubers do them now too like crown my run, tim gross, itsonandy, running brooms etc. I think Bester was one of if not the first to do it though. No denying his popularity and his running ability. To say he is a mediocre runner is just silly and objectively not true
I would much prefer for brands to start sponsoring runners like Jake Barraclough, than wasting money on shoetubers. How many shoetubers do we need anyways? I only listen to the DOR guys (and a girl) and that's it. But we need more sub-elite to elite runtubers IMO at least.
Can someone fill me in about Kofuzi wanting funding for his Syndey trip?
Does he have entry or not? or is he waiting for some brand to get him there?
I try not to listen to his podcast because it's annoying but last time I did, he was hoping to work with--read be sponsored by--(and secure a bib through) Sport Tours. Maybe he can pay for the bib with Klarna!

The family finances part was a response to someone asking how he budgeted when starting out his family. He said he and TL both worked when they first got married, then TL left her job when 1st kid was born 18 months into their marriage. His advice was to start investing early, he learned the magic of compound interest from his dad when he was young. And things might be tight at first but keep track of your budget, and also don't let money dictate you enjoying time with your family.
Agree with all this Sage. I also agree with people saying you put it out then your open to criticism. It's part of it.
I'm just sick to the back teeth of people thinking criticism can include personal attacks on looks, on people's houses or partners for the sake of it. That isn't criticism, it's just bullying and there's a difference.
I don’t think people here understand what bullying is. It’s really just NOT all name calling or negative opinions of others. It can be, but bullying is done in order to “abuse, aggressively dominate or intimidate” another person. A random unknown person commenting on a message board that they find a person to be ugly etc., especially with no evidence the other person is even reading the comment, is not bullying. It’s not nice or kind etc, and if the person reads it they may find it hurtful, but they aren’t being intimidated, dominated or bullied. If you want to argue that people on here are only allowed to say nice things about YouTubers, fine, make the argument. But a person voicing the opinion that they find a YouTuber to be ugly is not bullying. And, arguably, it’s kind of relevant when discussing the income they make, like, how is it that an unattractive person is popular when generally it’s attractive people who are on tv, in movies, etc. Attractive runners generally get a lot more followers etc.

He clearly left out the part where they go deeply in credit card debt because he refuses to get a real job. No way Demoor store and the youtube channel are keeping the lights on.

Sounds like something a bully would say to justify their bullying. Either that, or someone with absolutely zero social skills and EQ.
"It's not emotionally abusive for a bunch of strangers to constantly call a person ugly because it's behind their back". Most of the members in this thread seem to think that the youtubers discussed here are aware of this thread. Would you do this in real life where you're not anonymous? You can discuss their content and potential income without resorting to unkind words. Be better.
Brands have been holding fancy events for industry press people for decades. It's just that "press" has now expanded to include influencers. Same with ads in magazines in the old days vs. sponsored youtube or instagram posts now. Brands are responding to the changes in how people are consuming content in the age of digital content and social media. Marketing isn't just about selling (that's actually up to the Sales department), but about building brand recognition among other things. I'd say Diadora's sponsorship had at least some effect. I didn't even watch Kofuzi's video and yet here we are talking about Diadora. I didn't even know they existed before all this.
The difference is that, back in the day, Runners World had circulation figures well into the seven figures. And the payment for the travel was made to the company who then booked (usually coach and budget motel options). These days the payment is made directly to the influencer.
I don't really understand your point. Is your issue that influencers are being paid directly by the brands? Yes, influencers are self-employed, so they're being paid directly instead of being salaried and going to an event on their employer's dime.
I'm old enough to remember when independent bloggers started being treated as press around twenty years ago, well before social media took off. It was a big win for independent journalism at the time. Sure, social media influencers today are a bit different from journalists, but just like the world started treating bloggers as press all those years ago, brands have now also moved on to accept influencers as a valid investment of marketing spend. This isn't just in the running sphere, but everywhere in consumer retail.
I don't really understand why anyone would care about how multi-billion dollar corporations spend their marketing dollars. These brands don't care about you other than how much money they can make off you. And they'll only do what they think is profitable. I'd rather cheer on the little guy. I honestly hope these influencers squeeze the brands for all they're worth for as long as they can.

Ya I was one of the bullies a few pages back and I’m literally laughing at what that guy just wrote. What kind of delusional wannabe justification nonsense was that LMAO. dude is either a troll or truly an idiot.
but I’ll stop the bullying when floberg stops stealing and ripping off $100+/month from 30+ adults LOL!!!!! /s

And he said it's all a snowball. Sounds like he picked some profitable investments. Hopefully he's not too heavily into AI-stocks (Dot com bust 2.0 on the way). But happy for the Greatest of All Time, Still the Original Running YouTuber.

I re-watched it. It sounds like he came into a lot of money recently. I think this confirms that a few years back they got a lump sum of money and have been living off of that. So it's either that or massive debt. Only two scenarios that make sense.
