I've been quite pessimistic about how well uniformed military leadership have resisted Trump and Hegseth. And for the first time (I'm slow), I'm realizing that the scope of the attacks in Iran is probably another reason to be skeptical about their performance. Trump and Kegseth are probably easily ignorant enough that the military COULD have gotten away with striking far less than they did in Iran, and still not be viewed as insubordinate (i.e., SOMETHING less than 10,000 freakin' aim points). And yet, they did. Leads me to suspect that there were lots of senior officers went all-in on the irresponsibility and belligerence.

i wold be very surprised if us has significantly depleted its arsenal. they will have used top line stuff at the start against air defences, but once they were cleared, would have gone to outdated iron bombs with rudimentary and outdated control. similar to russia. how many real top line russian stuf is getting trashed? some, not much, mainly second rank stuff, same as us.
