The U.S. economy added 216,000 jobs last month, the Labor Department reported Friday. That was larger than November’s gain of 173,000, and better than forecasters were expecting.
Wages rose a healthy 4.1% last month from a year earlier.
The labor market’s slowing but steady pace during 2023, coupled with a sharp slowdown in inflation, has fueled optimism that the economy can achieve a so-called soft landing. That would mean inflation eases without a recession.
Biden needs more and different people getting this message out. People have been saturated with the message things are bad, and they have memories of when things were bad, it hard to convince them it's different now.

Dems are simply terrible at politics, which is the main reason they lose so many elections despite having the more popular policies. Dems think people pore over detailed policies and make measured decisions based on the facts of the case. When it's more like 'I'd rather have a beer with that guy so I'll vote for him.' Or 'I read about some crazy liberal back bencher so I can't for the Democrats.'

It's a problem
I caught just a little bit of what I think was a (new?) Biden campaign message yesterday on a radio program.
Whatever it was, it sounded just like a campaign message. And I was really struck by the fact that - after ALL of his decades in high-level, big-funding politics - it sounded SO MUCH like just another robotic, perhaps from a far-less-experienced politician, campaign message. Maybe some of it was the text (and one would also expect that he'd have great writers), but a lot of it was certainly his delivery. Like the perfect lame, robotic, unconvincing political statement from some relatively inexperienced and/or untalented politician. All I could think was, "Really, after all this time, you can't sound freakin' better than that ???"
