You can't dismiss this attack because you don't want to think about it by calling it a lame and tired talking point.
Let's deal with reality here.
A small number of people did have weapons. A very large group thought they could just threaten and intimidate legislature not to certify the election. Another very large just went along with the crowd and didn't think it through. People were hurt and laws were broken.
The legislature was intimated ran for their lives and stopped the certication of the vote. It almost resulted in Trump stealing the election from Biden but the legislature returned later at that night.
Don't kid yourself, this was a HUGE threat to our democracy.
