there are only 53,000 coal jobs left in the US. Which is a freaking rounding error. Don't let the right wing make you think the health of the US economy can be told in the coal industry job rolls. It can't. It isn't.

In comparison, there are at least 920,000 green energy jobs in this country, and that number will only grow. Celebrate that, eh?

I do feel bad for their plight. I would have felt bad for the buggy whip manufacturers in Westfield. But no amount of crying about it is going to change the fact that technologies and times change. Every one of us need to be prepared to change with the circumstances or else lead very sad lives.

As I said, I don't have much patience right now, so I am not going to spell everything out for you.

I am not sure which camp "Rome" belongs to.

The constitution does not allow for a dictator. The president does not possess that amount of power. Stop trying to stir fear of the improbable. Without the support of the military, the courts and both houses of congress (you’d need a super majority in the Senate to truly cause the chaos you are describing) a dictator regime cannot occur in this country.

Biden’s first two years were far more dictatorial than any point of Trump’s tenure. He has far more support from the military industrial complex (because they knew he would give them the wars that Trump did not) and the DOJ, but not the Supreme Court, which was the only entity standing in the way of his attempts to wield absolute power when Dems controlled both houses of congress (by Kamala controlling the tie breaking vote).

Time to wag the dog. War with Iran soon and when we crush them. Joe will be a hero in the polls. When do we get the official war with Iran thread?

I'll just remind everyone that trump's admin ended with razor wire around the capitol building and a 24 hour national guard emergency deployment to protect the nation against his supporters. Furthermore, trump actually convinced two local state election people to de-certify a big Dem county. This is how a republic ends.

democracy only lives because we say it does. If we elect the guy who ripped and tore at the country for four years and swore he wants to terminate the constitution, then we deserve that outcome.

Finally, reminder that SCOTUS has no troops to defend its judgments and trump could just ignore whatever it says or pack the court if he wanted to.
