So, in the absence of a conviction by Congress, the Colorado Supreme Court goes ahead and disqualifies Trump anyway. That's not the way the law works and more specifically this is a direct violation of the 14th Amendment.
Only Congress can disqualify someone from holding office under Section 3 of the 14A to begin with, not a court. This is underscored by Section 5 of 14A which explicitly states: "The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article."

The uncomfortable truth for Democrats is that Trump was able to win by swaying enough non-college educated white males that traditionally voted for Democrats because of their structurally racist pro-union policies with some of his spicy rhetoric.
