Don't you think breaking up Indianapolis into the corners of multiple different districts is insane? I appreciate the word is pretty much irrelevant in this administration, but shouldn't that be illegal?
Political parties which die do so because they fail to adapt their policies. MAGAs will die out. "Fake" Republicans have proven that they are spineless, have no policies, and allow themselves to be led by the nose. They have no balls to actually do anything for the real American people ... MAGAs are fake Americans.
I agree with the sentiment. Unfortunately, I disagree with the prediction.
And that's why Trump wants a Republican convention in 2026 - stoke enthusiasm. If he'd be on the ballot in 2028, turnout might be even higher...
The problem with all cult of personalities is that without the personality, it comes apart at the seams. Trump is actively undermining those who would succeed him. He is actively alienating those who don't already support him and he has never had 50% of the electorate. He believes America cannot exist without him and is trying his very best to make sure that it fails when he is gone. At 79 years old with clearly declining health and mental acuity, that time is not far off and he cannot run in 2028 anyway. So he has 3 years maximum.
The sad part for republicans is that they have let him set the party up for failure when he is gone. This is good news for democrats as it is starting to look like 1992 or 2008 again where republicans had unwittingly turned themselves into pariahs, again. Their only hope is election rigging and they know it.

Best Case: Trump is unique, and once he's gone, things go back to pre-Trump "normal."
Medium Case: The GOP doesn't find another Trump, but he will have normalized SO MUCH bad that political behavior on the right levels out MUCH worse than it used to be.
Worst Case: GOP finds another Trump. Or, at least GOP politicians continue acting more-or-less exactly like Trump/they do now.
Best case seems most unlikely, probably by far. At least medium case is basically guaranteed. And worst case is a distinct possibility.

Rapists SHOULD be in prison. Give me the evidence that Trump raped anyone.
A judge judged it. That’s the criteria you’ve laid out.
The finding that Ms. Carroll failed to prove that she was “raped” within the meaning of the New York Penal Law does not mean that she failed to prove that Mr. Trump “raped” her as many people commonly understand the word “rape.” Indeed, as the evidence at trial recounted below makes clear, the jury found that Mr. Trump in fact did exactly that.

REALLY hoping to be wrong about that.
History proves that those who do not adapt die off. That is true about everything, not just politics.
Random, off-year special elections ≠ midterm ≠ presidential. With Trump, Republicans do better in higher turnout elections.
“I don’t want everybody to vote… our leverage in the elections goes up as the voting populous goes down.” - Paul Weyrich, Republican strategist, co-founder of the right-wing Heritage Foundation.
40% of Hoosiers voted for Harris. With 9 districts, you'd think maybe 4 would be Dem leaning. But the reality is it's 2. Now potentially zero.
I live in Indianapolis. If this map is approved, I could drive through 4 congressional districts just crossing town. Voters in the city have nothing in common with people in the small towns far to the south and east. Just a travesty.

Well, that photo DOES suggest that Eric might be EVEN BETTER at attracting the MAGA vote than his father, featuring the High Rollers Suite at the highway-side Best Western as it does.
Eric is, after all, JUST LIKE THEM (...when he's not spending the millions/billions taken from the rubes for crypto, meme coins, and other red crap).
Just think. If certain lawmakers get their way, you can take a ride from the Donald J Trump Airport to the Trump International Airport and then take a ride down the Trump expressway until you get to the Donald J Trump Institute of Peace honoring Trump winning the prestigious FIFA Peace Prize.
Afterwards you can maybe swing by the national park to get free entry on trump's birthday and hey if you have an annual pass you can look at trump's wonderful image on it. At the end of the day you can check your kids funds in their Trump Accounts.
But it makes sense. Donald Trump is the greatest American president who works tireless 21 hour days (according to Mike Johnson), stopped hurricanes (according to kristi noem) and probably has golfed the only second 18 score golf game (second to Kim Jong Il).
Rs used to be an adapting party. That slowed down with Reagan. That last R I can think of who crossed the line and adapted well was Arnold Schwarzenegger. He was the last R I ever voted for. Schwarzenegger hates Trump.

And almost 40% of Marylanders voted for Trump. What's their representation? 12.5%.
Look at Connecticut and Massachusetts combined as well: 5.1 million votes (R or D - not counting third parties) in 2024. Trump won 39% of the votes in those 2 states. Congressionally? 14-0 D-R.

Trump played 18 holes and scored himself at 9. Somehow, each hole in ONE magically bounced into the next hole

Not really sure what your point is?
49% of America voted from Trump AFTER watching him for ~10 years, to include trying to steal an election.
That horrendous demographic insight does not die between now and Nov '26, nor after.
The GOP might - and hopefully will - take plenty of beatings in the near and/or medium-term future. But, VERY unfortunately, it won't change what we've learned about our country's citizens, and that is not going away. They WILL vote for horrible, dishonest, immoral, incompetent criminals. Trump MIGHT be the last. One could hope. But we now FULLY know the extremely unfortunate "potential" of American voters and citizens. If that ever dies, it certainly won't be for generations.

Minor correction: I believe that it's 25 hours per day.

Historical fact. Evolution. Extinction. Remaining static doesn't work. Rs haven't adapted for over 40 years. What you are seeing now is the desperation of the static republican party.
