Cole Gibbens? Is that his name? Ego went through the roof after his 2:16, great race, but now hard to relate to and watch his latest videos.
Who else is worth watching?
Little unfair to say his ego went through the roof in my opinion. He literally made a video a couple weeks after, talking about burnout and taking a step back - came across as very down to earth and relatable in that.
Yes, he made a few posts and celebrated a bit, but c'mon, surely you're allowed to enjoy and bask in the glory of finishing top 25 (2nd from masses) at a world marathon major. He's hardly milking a bloody first to last parkrun win! Also, if Bester had accomplished that, I think there would have been 10x the content Cole has put out.
In his latest video he's already making sarcastic comments about mentioning too much, seemed like he was taking the piss out of people like Ben and Phily who introduce themselves as 2:25 marathoners. Seems to have a good perspective on it all.
People are so obsessed with Bester. Why bring him into this? Anything to have a dig at the man. He’s been fantastic for so many people
People hate him because he's obviously very sexually active as shown by him having loads of kids all the time and the incels on this board can't get their heads around a man who can pound his wife as well as the tarmac

Hi Nick! I thought you and Anya would've made a nice couple but I suppose that's not to be.
Talking about influecers and marathon times... I've always wanted to ask this:
Say you're a 2:20 marathoner. Does this have expiration date? I mean if you never touched this time in the last year? Two? Is it more appropriate to call yourself by your last race result and not your best?

The Track Club Babe Instagram page, which still proudly advertises her 3:11 PR from about a decade ago even though she doesn't break 4 most times these days, says no, PRs never expire.
I think Floberg can be dramatic, but I do actually like some of his stuff.
However, his coaching is getting ridiculous. These guys who have been taking running seriously for a couple years think they can be coaches?
From what I understand, Clark started running a few years ago, and is now qualified to be a coach because he broke 2:30 in a marathon?
Then the cherry on top, Floberg's videographer, Cyrus, was just announced to be a coach helping with the training plans. This is a guy who isn't even a runner, just rides his bike around filming Floberg while he runs.
Floberg and Clark may or may not know anything about running, but this group is purely built through social media gravitas and hype. I don't think the training plans will be anything you can't download online, but the group chat, drama, and hype will be there.
It's just another revenue stream, not quality coaching from experts.
Floberg The Leech now advertising that is 20, yes TWENTY coaching spots are now filled. These newbie runners who would probably see the same gains following any book out there are basically paying Floberg $120 a month so they can tell their friends they're being "coached" by a D grade "celebrity" and get to "spend time with him"
Finally Kofuzi is open about selling his soul to the devil. He's just done a short on how he used Klarna (lies), to get all his recent Nike shoes.
Shilling for a predatory lender is the lowest I've seen any runtuber go. I mean I dislike Rinna, but that's not putting people in financial distress into long term debt at massive interest rates. Lost any remaining respect for Kofuzi.

TEAM MAKOU - another appaling night for the team, 2 DNFs and Beattie running his standard 13:20~
dont understand why these guys keep flogging themselves around europe when there are plenty of races in the UK which they wont win. plain and simply, they are not good enough.
Beattie has a chance of sneaking into the world champs due to a freak result in boston but the others are producing equivalent performances to your local postman/PE teacher.
how are these guys funded to be full time athletes despite having zero hope of being anything other than solid club runners. dnt get me started on Astin, seems to try hard but her 1500m the other night wouldnt even rank in the top 5 performances for an u17 girl

We should keep a list of shoetubers / runfluencers who have pimped themselves out for Klarna to make a quick buck. I'll start:
-Kofuzi
-Nick Bester
-Samantha Mac
-Pursuit of Performance (Rob Dalto)
All great chaps in their own way but shilling predatory-style lending (when you will literally run through a pair of shoes before finishing paying for them) is beneath them and stooping incredibly low as far as paid partnerships go.
So do we think RantoJapan has signed a pro deal (or something similar of sorts?)
Latest video says he's gone to Seattle for "International business" and to fulfil one of his dreams - he's always stated that going pro was one of them.
Aren't Brooks based in Seattle? Missed opportunity for Mizuno or Asics to not sign him up what with the Japanese connection.
Japanese companies tend to be very stingy and conservative, often not to their benefit... penny smart, pound foolish (I think him not being Japanese would also be a factor).
