As it should be.

Do Stermer and KO run again for Cortland? Do they run other guys from last years top 7? Do they run a B team? Going to be interesting to see what happens. Personally, I'd like to see Dubois and Greenlaw to get their first race in. I assume that they wont run top guys, and that the only reason they did last year was because SLU was hosting regionals.

Yo, screw you, whoever you are. You're probably just some moron who doesn't realize the amazing potential Fredonia has. Don't be jealous just because they're going to beat the crap out of your third rate team come Regionals.

I've voiced similar opinions in the past, and it's safe to say that most people disagree with me, but:
Once the season has begun, I think that rankings should be based on how the school's team performs in head-to-head competition. If a school is in a meet, chooses to hold out most or all of its top runners, and gets beaten as a result, then it should be ranked behind the teams that beat it--just as if its top runners were injured and couldn't run.
[My one exception to this might be if the school runs multiple squads at multiple meets. I believe North Central did this, some years back--they sent A, B, C, D, E, and F squads to separate meets, IIRC.]
I don't think woulda/coulda/shoulda ("Well, Wassamatta U beat Paranoid State by a few points last weekend, but PS didn't have their top guy run, so I'm still going to rank them higher than WU") should have any effect on rankings--any more than it would affect in-season basketball rankings, say. (Can you picture people trying to reason similarly about basketball teams? "Well, WU beat PS last week, but PS's best player was suspended for two games for defecating on the quad, so I'm still gonna rank PS higher." Ridiculous!)
If the rankings are just for entertainment anyway, then why not make them "entertaining" and rank teams based on actual performance? The only rankings that really *count* are the scores at Regionals and Nationals, anyway.
Or, if you think in-season rankings *do* count--if you think a team's or Region's chances for an at-large bid, say, would be helped by high rankings in-season--then ACT like you believe that, and if you choose to compete, have your best available squad run! This woulda/coulda stuff--setting up excuses in advance, in other words--is for the birds and should not be accommodated by those who vote on the rankings.
Your opinions may differ.
Me and the members of my team would like to apologize to the region for absolutely idiotic post involving our team. We have discussed this issue as a team are we not responsible for any of these obnoxious and rude statements. These posters do not share the attitude and opinions of the Fredonia Cross Country Team. Those behind the post should grow up.

BOOOOOOOOM goes the Tom Bomb!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kudos to you Tom Williams. Good to see that there are some classy people on this board yet.

ok let's get back to actual racing talk
Guys... Plattsburgh just got suffolk county, long island's hero Richie Adickes one of the fastest phenoms ever to come off the island. Hell according to his own legend he once ran a cross country race in high school with one shoe in 15:44! The self-professed super stud will undoubtably be a ground breaking new element in the atlantic region so long as he doesn't get tangled up in his web of lies and trip during the race. Oh and of course he won't be able to do much if he fails out of college... again.
in light of this incredible new transfer my picks are as follows
1. Plattsburgh
2. Cortland
3. NYU
4. Geneseo
5. SLU
Hey man, chill with the personal attacks. He's a teammate of mine who works very hard. He's a good kid so let whatever beef you two have go. Get back to real predictions about the region and stop attacking people on the forum. Ohhh and BBBJ 4L!!!!
give it a month you will see...
yo dawg. you messin wit longgg island?? we roll mad deep. i'll pop you wit my 9
