I heard word that WashU never ran a "complete" team all season (with all their top 7 in the same race) so thats why they were unranked. Can anyone back this up, or is this something I'm just imagining?

Anyone know how hilly the nationals course is in Cleveland? The course map is online, but it doesn't really give you a sense of whether or not it is flat or rolling. Has anyone seen it? I'm assuming the footing will be good since it is a golf course. I'd love to hear some opinions about how fast or slow the course might run.
The 7 who ran at regionals (though they weren't all in the top 7 at the time) ran at the Oshkosh Brooks Invite with these results-
16 Michael Burnstein SO Washington University 24:47.50 5:00
42 David Hamm FR Washington University 25:17.90 5:06
43 Alex Bearden SR Washington University 25:19.00 5:06
60 Dave Spandorfer JR Washington University 25:29.60 5:08
76 Malik Nabulsi SO Washington University 25:39.90 5:10
91 Matt Schwab SO Washington University 25:44.90 5:11
104 Kwin Keuter JR Washington University 25:51.62 5:13
If those really are the same 7 that raced at regionals, that's remarkable. Why would they run so poorly until now?
maybe they have a competent coach?
the course at BW is a slow hilly course you run on side hills a majority of the time and there are long straight aways that requires a strong mental focus its rained a lot in ohio lately and the course will be really soft and slow so don't expect fast times. I believe Jimmy O'Brien won in 25:57 at the oac championship in 2007

injuries
injuries? or lack of testosterone induced insanity resulting in testacles squeezed into tight, tight green and red polka dotted and checkered quarter tights?
RIT from the Atlantic region had a deluge of support including a cow, a tiger, and a gorilla, along with throngs of painted hooligans. Not to mention they tailgated beforehand in the parking lot.

WashU fans are going to get blown away by CWRU fans at Nationals.
yeah right. case fans are going to finish last in their conference, just like their weak ass team.
The times they ran at regionals weren't significantly faster than what they ran at Oshkosh. While they certainly improved, is a part of their 3rd place finish due to teams like Stevens Point and Augustana blowing up?
anyone else have predictions? wrote:
Cortland rebounded nicely from their lose to Geneseo at SUNYACs and Dubois did not finish close to as high as he could have. Geneseo does not look as strong as they did two weeks ago. Williams also looks like they have a pretty scary looking pack out of new england. Anyone know if their guys went all-out or were they holding back to run together? Allegheny also looks very solid.
As much as I hate to admit it (I attended a different NESCAC school), Williams ran a superb team race. It seemed to me as if Farwell had told Edgar to win as easily as possible and had asked the others to stalk the lead pack for the entire race. I was standing near him with a little over a mile to go when he told the pack to just shut it down. If they go out hard at nationals and hang on reasonably well, I think they can certainly get back on the podium.

Part of racing is not blowing up. Augie and SP didn't show up and they lost, that's how cross country is. But anyway it looks like Wash improved a ton over Oshkosh:
Dave Spandorfer JR Washington University 25:29.60 24:57
Malik Nabulsi SO Washington University 25:39.90 25:20
Matt Schwab SO Washington University 25:44.90 25:02
Kwin Keuter JR Washington University 25:51.62 25:08
That's a pretty big improvement
Will the race be streemed live online?
Pete would tell us every single year to shut it down the last mile at Regionals. This team is solid but they definitely did not run together the entire way as a previous poster was portraying.
soft and slow eh...sounds like me in the bedroom...hey ooo.
anyway, cross is cute and all...but i lets get to the real sport with real excitement (and most importantly shorter races) TRACK AND FIELD baby!!!

How would the Tufts team be able to see Williams wearing Tufts shirts at nationals? I hope Faller plans on bringing a camera.
you will probably see more tufts runners than any other team at nationals
Good luck trying to outdo Calvin. Just saying...
