Where is "old man ass" when you need him talking shit on everyone and talking up Mines like they are going to beat ASC and WSC???
Oh wait, he's hiding because they got rocked so bad at conference.

Oh the irony
First off... learn the proper usages of the words "your" and "you're", you're just proving my point that you are probably either
a) a western alum
or
b) a current western student
Second off... if Mines finishes 14th, like they're ranked now, at nationals then you can call me retarded.

Sorry I was not aware this was a f*ckin English class ya prick.
And no im not from Western, but by making that generalization that Western students have bad grammar is just wrong anyways. This is a running thread. Take your sh*t somewhere else.

And Mr. Oh the irony
By that statement you clearly have no idea what the argument is even about. So you can shove that irony right up your ass
I have to agree, Mines will not be 14th at nationals and the rankings are totally bogus this week...For one thing, six teams from the Central will be at the national meet and only four teasms are ranked---I would say the rankers are taking the opportunity to say "See--the Central isn't that strong..."
Mines guys ran a tight pack right behind 10 guys (or more) who will be All-American at Nationals...Even if you think Zywiki is not going to be in the top 25---call him 30th...then add in 35, 40, 45, 50...better than Mines did last year and they were 7th...A deeper field this year? Probably...but 200 points is never out of the top 10.
I will gladly take money on a Metro/Augustana/Highlands (take your pick) versus Southwest Baptist/Stonehill/Wayne State (take your pick)...Sallah---the number one guy for Wayne was not even in the top 65 at nationals last year---the guy who finished as #5 man for Metro at the RMAC meet was just two places behind Sallah at nationals last year..
This is a really poor job by the poll coordinator and another example of trying to regionalize the rankings and qualifying and be able to say "look how balanced DII cross country is..." It is not balanced and teams who have no real business at nationals will qualify from weak regions like the South, or the #4 team from the Midwest or our favorite whipping boys from the Southeast
Great Post. The polls were jacked this week.
XCobeserver's posts are good, If you look at all his posts i have to say the NCAA should hire you to do the ranking work for them.

I was simply stating that it was ironic that he's calling someone retarded yet can't even spell/use proper grammar himself. It's not that hard to understand, although for individuals such as yourself with an abysmal IQ level apparently it is.

You are right and wrong on a few things. Just because someone is going to nationals doesn't mean they should be ranked. 6 teams are going from the mountain region because of Western, Adams and Mines doing well last year. There are only 4 good teams in that group, the other 2 can thank their lucky stars, much like the teams that are in the Harding region or Abilene region. Unless something happened that I didn't catch, Minnesota State sucked really bad for the most part of the year and just beat on a bunch of really bad teams at their conference and moved up the polls to 13th.
There are 7 teams that should be ranked in the midwest region. You may think they don't belong but Drury beat Minnesota State earlier this year, actually a month ago, with the same Minnesota State team that just won conference, minus 1 of their top 7. Time will tell if Drury is not the 7th best team in that region. The midwest is the deepest region once again. The mountain region is the best region up front by far with Adams, Western and Mines.
Lock Haven and Florida Southern do not belong in the polls and are only there to show equality in the nation. Thankfully the polls don't mean anything with regard to national qualify.
You north central fans are just upset that the south central is catching you. Just because your teams get to race Adams, Western, and Mines doesn't mean that you are in their league. After those three, your region hasn't beaten anyone this year.
Mankato and Augustana (your 3 and 5 teams) got smoked on at GRIAK. Yell as much as you want, but look at the results.
1. 109 Drury
2. 120 Pittsburg State
3. 128 Minn State Mankato
4. 133 Southwest Baptist
5. 144 Concordia Nebraska
6. 152 Augustana (SD)
The highest ranked central team not to be ranked is Augustana. Do they deserve to be in the polls? By the looks of this, NO WAY! If they aren't in, then no one else below them belongs either. If anything there should be more south central or midwest teams in there. You should feel lucky that your top teams are so good to help get your mediocre teams into the national meet.
well it will even out, i think the west region steals an extra spot for national qualifiers next year as chico and anchorage should both finish top ten.
is it top 10 now or is it still top 8 that gives their region an extra berth?

Explain to me how Florida Southern does not belong in the polls? They are actually under ranked if you compare them to some over ranked teams in the midwest!

Give me some reasoning behind this. And dont go by times, XC times arent worth squat. Courses are short or flat and cant be used to accurately compare teams. The closest thing you can do is compare teams that raced head to head.
How can Mines be a top 10 team if their regional ranker does not even think that they are better than Mankato? Mankato got beat by Drury and Pitt State! None of the other top 10 teams have a race like that yet. With a race that Mines put up at RMAC, there is no way that their point total at national would be anywhere close to what you are predicting. You already have 10 guys ahead of Zywicki from the RMAC. Guaranteed that with at race like that that both Harding and Abilene put at least 5 guys ahead of him each. Now he's at best 21st. But Chico, Queens and Anchorage likely have 2 each. Now he's 27th at best. This doesn't count all of the good individuals from Edinboro, Western Washington, Slippery Rock (if they qualify), Stonehill, the SC guys. 30 is very generous with an effort like RMAC. Yes, he has raced better throughout the year, and so a 30th wouldn't surprise me too much. But in those other races where he ran better, there was a much bigger differential between him and his teammates. If he runs 30th, no way do they come back with a 35,40,45, and 65. There are way too many good guys that you are not taking into consideration.
I do think that Mines will be higher than 14th at nationals but not by the rationale that you supplied above. Also, when you say "I'll gladly take my money on a Metro, Augustana, Highlands vs a SW Baptist, Stonehill, Wayne State", how do you explain Augustana getting beat by Drury, Pitt State, and SW Baptist at Griak? The South Central is dramatically improved depth wise compared to the past. Unfortunately we won't get to see all of them race at nationals against the 6 central region teams since we only get 3 spots.
My top 20
1-5. ASC, ACU, Harding, WSC, Chico
6-10. Queens, Anchorage, Lowell, S.Indiana, Grand Valley
11-15. WWU, Mines, Edinboro, Stonehill, Mankato
16-20. SW Baptist, Pitt St, Missouri So, Metro, Wayne St
Hate to break it to you, but what happened a month ago doesn't matter. Minnesota State actually was without a a few of their guys that ran at conference this year at Griak, and a few others on their team ran much tougher at conference. I'll put my money on Minnesota State to beat those teams at nationals.
