You're missing an opportunity to post about your running today. That is what this thread is supposed to be about.

Sorry, no running for me today. Just sneaking in a little browsing while at my desk.

Ran an easy 40' today. Felt quite good considering this was my first run since Wednesday's race. The pace was somewhat faster than I had been doing recently, though the effort did not seem any different. I guess the race woke up some of my lazy muscle fibers. It's all good!

Aside to Running Dog: In my opinion, it is a big mistake to ask for race goals, etc. online. Though I'm sure everyone here has good intentions, none of us know you or your training background. It is unfair to ask the kinds of questions you have been asking of someone who does not know you well. You're bound to be disappointed most of the time with any off-the-cuff predictions. Listen to your coach and follow his advice. He knows you best.

I feel you. My coach was pretty mad at me for being so stupid. But I brought her a rose and she was all smiling and stuff. Just got to give her a little something to keep her happy, if you know what I mean.

Thanks again for all of the support. Most of you have been very kind, though there's always someone trying to stir up something. I'll be sticking to the coach's plan for the forseeable future. I'll keep you informed.

AM: 5.2 miles, felt OK. I'll take it. May do a second run this PM. Feeling optimistic.

Thur: No run today. Household (plumbing) issues. Hiring contractors. :(

Fri: No run today.

Sat: Block run. A 24:50 w-out. Included 8x :58 - 1:06 quick pick ups. AHR 140 MHR 160.

Been off line, big disruption in home.

i was on the uphill finish to the car after a 2 laps around the lake at sesqui park, outside of columbia, sc, and i feel a bug of some kind hit my lip on the way into my mouth. luckily i trapped it with my tongue before i inhaled it, but it managed to sting me in the roof of my mouth. i then spit out a bee. nice way to end the run. now it feels like a never-ending slurpee headache, getting stung in the brain, essentially, through the palate. good run though.

I did about 5.5 miles. Nice warm morning, and think my achilles is on the mend. Hallelujah!

See a doctor or go to your local hospital just to be safe.

Ran 1:50 for 800m but haven't run in 5 years. Started running again 2 weeks ago approximately 4 days a week 20 minutes a day. I weigh about 15 lbs since my competing days by my body still feels fast and efficient. Happy to be back running. Hoping to run 5k under 19 minutes in Sept.

Um, 1:50? :)

Today I did 20min jog + many strides + 1 Mile Road Race + 50min superjog with my wife.

I have no idea what my time was on the Mile. I didn't hit my watch correctly at the start, and I didn't bug the organizers afterwards. It'll be posted soon.

But, I know it was much slower than last weekend's road mile, and yet, the race was better than last weekend, hahahaha.....

There are some sharp turns at the start / finish / middle of this race. After the first couple hundred meters, I latched onto a guy, and was happy to race him, as the Fast Bastards were way ahead. I wasn't going to catch any of them. My guy slowed near halfway, and I slowed too. It felt like a 5k for a little while. After halfway I went harder, and raced reasonably well to the finish. My guy got me at the line though. This was more "tactical" than "go for the time", especially after I viewed the course beforehand. Time just wasn't a priority today.

Immense fun! I think I was 5th. Zack Whitmarsh, 2000 Olympian, was 1st in 4:29. He says "subtract 10-12sec for a track mile". I agree.

Today I raced in a 25 km that climbed the Niagara Escarpment near Collingwood Ontario twice. What might have been worse were the two descents of the escarpment. I've run in over 1,000 races and this was one of the toughest of them all. Hot and humid. Worked my way up into third overall though, and won the 50+ age category. Broke 2 hours by 6 minutes then laid down in the nice cold water of the Mad River for 15 minutes. The Creemore Brewery, which was voted the brewer of the best lager in North America is nearby - a bonus!

I ran a 5 plus miles uphill in about 45 min. Easy day. Recovering from yesterday 9x400m, 200R.

I bought some new racing flats last weekend to use for interval training and some tempo runs, but I overdid it and my chronic compartment syndrome (which I has a fasciotomy for several years ago) flared up badly and I havent been able to run for a few days.

Sooooo I am relegated to using the damn exercise bike for about 3 or 4 days until the pressure subsides. Probably do a 60 min. ride (HR around 120 or 130 most of the way) and do an upperbody and core workout after that.

After that the usual ice and stretching routine for me.

I would go with that rather than what the results say, they were probably off the mark!

Got in an early 20 miler. First one of those in awhile as I start looking toward a fall Marathon. Felt pretty good today, kept heart rate low. Had a great week last week, plenty of quality and relatively high miles.

Hey vic. I was unable to hit my watch at the start. I know that 5:06 is the time it took me to do that course. But I just can't believe it was a Mile, hahaha. I'm sure it's accurate, as they say. I guess I was half asleep or something. It FELT faster!!! Oh well. I'm movin' on towards the next race....
