Fed and Nadal’s era pre and early Chokervic. Sinner and Alcaraz era now. Both objectively stronger. But Chokervic gets credit. He got like 12 slams beating up on Kyrgios and crew.
Let me get this straight. You think Fed’s early slams and other titles were in a strong era? Really?
I do like that you are fighting back a bit now, but you’ve got the tennis knowledge of a gorilla.
Primes did not overlap very well. Chokervic farmed a ton of Slams after Nadal and Federer hit their age-out. Beating Kyrgios and Theim is not that impressive. As soon as alcaraz and Sinner show up Chokervic stops winning
Dumbazz,
Djokovic was 35-36 years old & well on the downside of his prime when Alcaraz & Sinner came up. You're getting destroyed on this thread. Take the L.
Sinner’s victory yesterday will always have an asterisk next to it. Kinda like all of Rupp’s race results. He’s a convicted doper (an honorary dishonorable Kenyan).
I guess Daniel Jones and Tiger Woods are still elite talents too. Look how much they earn.
Tip: stop frantically moving down the spreadsheet in search of a new number
You said Djokovic’s career was over. He earned $12 million in tournament earnings in 2024. Tiger earned $44K - probably about what a P.E. teacher makes. :) Daniel Jones? Who is that?
Once again, I’m conducting a master class in tennis. Come join and you’ll learn a lot.
Your argument was about judging player ability by earnings.
If you meant tournament winnings then you should have just mentioned that.

Let’s make no mention of the fact that he remains at #6 in the world. That sounds like a career that is over 😂🤡🤦♂️
But, Djokovic will retire soon, no doubt. He was never going to be playing competitively at age 40. Nobody does. Moreover, he has a winning head-to-head record against Alcaraz and Zverev, and he’s 4-6 against Sinner, the proven doper and his biggest, current nemesis.
The tell tale sign of an aging player? Playing very well, and then a drop off, especially in endurance and resilience to injuries, punctuated by great performances. Like making grand slam finals and semifinals and winning Olympic gold medals.
But, let’s make no mistake about it… the GOAT is currently passing the torch to the young stars. It happens to the best of them. Usually in the very early 30s in tennis.
The man was playing his best tennis in 2023. One set away from the Calendar Slam
Unexplained illness in the winter. And now he’s much, much worse.
My explanation fits. Did he fall of a cliff from the greatest year in tennis ever to winning 2 tournaments in almost 2 years due to age alone? Maybe? But it’s far more likely this “unexplainable illness” (long covid) was the driving factor
Thanks for clearing that up, tennis aficionado and disinformation 🐐.
He’s so profound. He’s the most intelligent gorilla I know. :)
You guys seem to only argue in absolutes. I’ve always said it could be age. It would require the quickest, most severe age-related fall off in tennis history. Unlikely.
More likely: the “unexplained illness” lingers. long covid.

Nope. Again you missed the mark.
Let’s recap:
You stated that Djoker’s career was over.
I replied that somehow he earned $12 million on the court last year - pretty good for guy whose career was over.
You replied with some gibberish about Tiger and some football player.
I pointed out that Tiger’s winnings were that of a P.E. teacher and that you didn’t know that football players have contracts and not winnings.
And here’s my quote:

He earned $37 million last year, including $12.2 million from on-court earnings. Sounds pretty good for a guy whose career is over. lol
Do you not even know what “on-court” means? lol I can’t help it have a limited understanding of tennis.
Here’s my other post.

The master class continues. I’ve noticed you registered, but haven’t been doing your homework.

How quickly we forget about Nadal’s “stately, elegant normal decline.” Two Slam titles and a SF in one year to winning a total of THREE SETS in Slams during the next two years.

Injuries. Like Chokervic’s mysterious illness. Exactly. You’re getting it

You said he earned $37 million last year. If you want to discuss tournament winnings then why mention that?
If you’d prefer to discuss on court winnings only, that’s fine. But pretending that you didn’t mention total earnings is silly. You quoted it yourself!
That same Kyrgios that defeated Nadal in the semis of that same Slam?
He’s no Baghdatis or Phillopoisis though. And come on three of Fed’s Slam final wins came against Andy Roddick. :) Sheesh.
Every way you spin it, Djokovic comes out the GOAT. Put away your silly personal feelings about him and admit the obvious. Djoker is the GOAT.
Yeah when Nadal was declining fast. My point exactly. Chokervic was cleaning up scrubs and those past their prime.
He benefitted from a weak era. Good for him for capitalizing but it needs to be noted in the GOAT discussion.
Now that sinner and alcaraz are here he’s a semifinal merchant at best. Says a lot
Wait. You said Nadal had a “stately, elegant, normal decline.” Now you’re saying Nadal declined fast.
You've contradicted yourself so many times on this thread, you can’t keep your stories straight. :)
Thank you for at least fighting back today. It has been highly entertaining. Kind of like watching a turtle stick on its back, helplessly flailing around.
And come on. Andy Roddick won a title and made Finals during Fed’s early/mid twenties. lol

Yep, the 🐐of contradiction, hypocrisy, and narcissism gets caught in his own web of disinformation and deceit. Long live the 🐐. He’s nothing if not comical.

No contradictions at all. Chokervic benefited from fed and Nadal declining and a vacuum of other talent. That hurts his GOAT resume.

If I had to choose between the last two years of Nadal’s career and the last two year’s Djokovic’s career, I’d choose Djokovic’s.
The reason that you’re losing this discussion so badly is that you won’t admit you know very little about tennis. You have this angst over Djokovic being the GOAT that you can’t formulate a coherent argument. You contradict yourself and just proclaim some nonsense as true.
My expert recommendation is that you sit back, take notes from me and learn something. Stop making a fool of yourself. I feel embarrassed for you.

The more he posts, the more obvious it is that he knows very little about tennis. Most of his takes are so far away from the truth that comical is the right word for it.
