Wouldn’t it be neat if Rich G gave other sections some attention?
He might feel more confident about posting rankings about schools he knows about and probably works with often. Like he probably knows a lot of the coaches on this list on a first name basis. He's often the first guy reporting on transfers and injuries so he's definitely talking to coaches when building his rankings.
If he was to expand towards all of California, he'd need to add hundreds of coaches to his communication list if he wanted to put out a quality ranking. Otherwise, his ranking would barely be different than something someone could put together by just looking at Woodbridge and Clovis (and others) times.
I always feel his state wide rankings are pretty underwhelming once he brings in the rest of California and that's with only needing to add like 50 schools to his radar. If he was going to build season long rankings for every section, that could be a lot of schools.
If you were a local in one of those regions, you'd probably prefer someone who knows the area putting out a ranking instead. Like I sometimes check out crosscountryexpress for Norcal since I trust their view more than I would Rich trying to do a ranking of their region.
I guess it would be cool if Rich could maybe make a cross post or promote those other websites, but that's more of a business decision I think of promoting competitors for HS running news (does he actually make significant money from prepcal, or is it mostly just his hobby?)
