I’ve been wondering that and no update on instagram. She wasn’t injured and in good shape. No reports as to why she pulled out. With her DNF and Charlotte Purdue’s last minute injury we didn’t do brilliantly. Rose Harvey finished being taken away in a wheelchair.

If you were in Paris this was actually the worst. We could not cross the course although no runner had passed in a full hour. It was ridiculous. The organization did not think someone would finish in that slow of a time. Like our place we were at was encircled by the course and not beim allowed to cross although we needed to get back urgently to be able to catch our train was insane. All because an “Olympian” could barely hobby jog 4h.
i did the course in the mass marathon Saturday night and was faster than her and am also a woman. They need to impose course limits. What’s next? Someone walking it?

True, not quite as close at the end though.
But, I agree, the 2 stops to stretch, the 90 degree water station turn, 1st marathon inexperience make it real close.

On one hand I believe that Fiona earned the spot so she can do what she wants, if McClain wanted to guarantee her spot, she should have done it at trials. On the other hand, it's kind of a sh*t move to just take the gun for the title of "Olympian" knowing you cannot even finish. TBH, I'm not sure what I would have done in that situation, you never know if you will ever get another shot to be an Olympian.
But this is why we have an alternate, otherwise don’t have the alternate. And certainly don’t notify her that she should get on a plane and fly 10 hours to Paris. There must’ve been a pretty good discussion regarding her necessity to be there
