NB/MTC athlete 45 seconds behind the qualifiers and 17th in her 5000m heat. So glad we selected her over Lauren Ryan who got top 10 in the 10,000m .Another stroke of genius from these brainlets.

What's this 'Scuffin theory'

I don’t think this necessarily relates to MTC, given there’s maybe 5 main training groups in Aus, but interestingly on the latest Inside Running pod they mentioned the below:

“Oh, I got a sneaky little whisper. One of the big training groups in the country is sort of disbanding. Just leave it at that.
Might see one of the bigger training groups disbanding.”

I heard that too and was hoping there'd be a comment here about it.
Stewy and Nic in a legal battle sounds a lot like Craig Mottram and Nic going at it back in the day.

A videographer recently featured some MTC athletics and the caption on instagram was something like “new chapter for these athletes” or something

Good shout. Qld based athletes in that post…MTC as a brand doesn’t make sense when there’s athletes all over the country, and world, represented by the name.

Also wonder if there is a a MTC split on the cards, if that’s why the Spiked Up pod with Sarah and Rose was axed.

The group being axed / folding is Didiks Team Tempo. Not MTC.
MTC and Bideu would survive the apocalypse.

Stewy is as sad sad sad story, far worse than this Laura Miur case recently.

He has been emotionally abused by Nic Bideu for years. He finally caved and quit the group this summer.

Nic then handed Stewy a $50k invoice (and threatened legal action if not paid) for years of training camp fees (staying at Nic’s houses in Spain and London).

Stewy got spooked and is now back training under the evil dictator as he can’t afford to pay him.
The last 18 months Stewy seems to be injury ridden yet forced to compete. The same happened during Covid when Stewy clearly had respiratory issues and was forced to run Doha and Birmingham Diamond Leagues scraping 3:47-50 for 1500m!!

Australian Athletics or even world athletics need to get involved but Stewy like many before and sadly many to come live in constant fear of Nic Bideu.

He holds the keys to so many lucrative race entries overseas from here in Australia where it’s so hard to get out.

All those under Nic fear to leave him as they fear being black listed from overseas races.

It’s a very very serious situation which sadly because of the athletes fear, will keep being repeated.

NB is technically not even allowed to be an agent as he is bizzarly employed by the federation (as well as being a paid Nike coach?!)

His minion, Collis and ‘wife’ Sonia register most of the athletes via their agent license.

Rose Davies and Andrew Buchanan have the best of both worlds..

Nic to get them into races but they get coached by another (smarter) coach.

Although word on the street is their contracts are a fraction what they would/should earn if NB ever did any work and shopped them to the likes of adidas, On, Nike or Puma.

Ask the sprinter Mr Kennedy about his current deal that the magic man Nic got him.

A runner I knew in the mid noughties.

Decent level. Winning nationals. Left coach to go to bideau because his group was the only way to "make it" back then, one decent year followed by injury after injury.

Tried to leave and hit with tens of thousands of dollars of bills for staying in Nick's houses, access to facilities etc that they were told were free for his athletes.

If I was an athlete I would not sign anything with Nick because he has clauses and claims that if you don't run xyz it is your fault and you owe him for the investment.

His group has been exposed now because he hasn't got any of the good up and coming juniors.

Claudia Hollingsworth, Abbey and Cam Myers all coached elsewhere.

His athletes failed at the major championship as they do every year.
