She has not run close to those times since High School 2-3 Years ago, With 1 exception she ran 11.05 towards the end of the season. Her and The Girl who went to USC (Mia Brahe Pederson) Who were Supposed to be the next big things in Sprinting, Have done nothing noteworthy in College, Just like Abby Stiener who was the next big thing because she Ran Great at Kentuky then she turned Pro And has been injured or running subpar wince I believe 2022
What is with all these High School and College Superstars who can not beat their times once they move up to the Next Level????
Lots of little things can throw off performance but once someone shows that kind of talent they can do it again with the exception of women who experience body changes as they mature (which can also happen to men sometimes). Usually things like training changes, problems adjusting to college life and/or personal issues are what interfere with progress. Once someone throws down those types of numbers there will always be coaches/programs willing to work with them.
This thread goes a long way in proving the point that most coaches at the power 4/5 level are managing talent more than they're actually coaching. Obviously I'm not saying that the coaches are clueless, but when certain coaches look like experts when they win the recruiting war but like amateurs when they lose, it says a lot.
MBP suffered a torn hamstring tendon at the first indoor meet of her senior season and re-injured it about three months later.
My understanding is that she has been working hard at USC, is again strong, and they are optimistic for her sophomore season.
Injuries, sometimes serious, happen to almost all elite athletes. It seems a little premature to dismiss Jackson, MBP, or Steiner, who is coming back from surgery.
TrackNerd2- I was wondering when Autumn Wilson was going to jumped into the portal. I just didn't think that she was going to end up at Samford. However, best luck to her.

Mia pulled her hamstring at the end of an indoor 60m her senior year and then completely tore the hamstring while she was returning to training. This erased the rest of her senior year and had her running a lite schedule her freshman year at USC.
This will hopefully be her first full year competing since the injury.
I have observed the numerous South Carolina athletes who have entered the transfer portal as well. I look forward to discovering the reasoning behind their sudden decision to leave South Carolina and learning which schools they will be attending in the near future.
