bump. care to explain?
I don't see any mentioned about the Navy Director of Operations job that was posted earlier this month. Anyone have any details? Obviously not a coaching job, but a position with a wonderful Academy.
Any news about Montana HC?

When doing something that is not coaching athletes - office work - is a great pathway to a head coaching or directing job, the profession is in trouble. Unfortunately, it is frequently true that coaches who can’t coach athletes end up being reassigned indoors and then are promoted, making people who can’t coach in charge of coaching. This is especially true of coaches with big egos who are masters of self promotion. Narcissism can get you to the top in professions where your daily work is not seen by your boss (the AD). It happens in other professions all the time.
Lananna likely already knows who he will hire. UVA is a state school so jobs need to be advertised and 3 interviews need to be conducted to demonstrate a competitive process for publicly funded jobs. So by the time it’s advertised, it’s essentially already closed.

Especially when you see that they are only accepting applications for a week.
What’s going on with Cincinnati? Did they just fail their search and consolidate under Lara Rogers or something?
Here's my take.
Jason Dunn left coaching to return to Virginia as the Director of Ops and he was loving life. When Pete Watson left for Texas, Dunn took over as distance coach. Then Vin came in to start coaching and the staff remained in tact until Vin could get things figured out the way he wanted them. My guess is Dunn is going back to the Director of Ops position and Vin has someone in mind already to take over as the assistant distance coach.
Robert Morris distance coach
