So guys I have about 40k cash and I’m obviously high risk profile, with about $5.5k net income each month.
Think $10k limit in the iBond is worth it? Or just cash.

Common sense would tell one crypto and companies that have no earnings are poor investments.

My 10-year-old Prius runs like a sewing machine! So much more efficient than a Cayman, it gives me goosebumps.😂

Hold the phone!
The 10K limit is not completely correct, unless my 5 minutes of due dilignece is incorrect.
The limit is actually $15K per individual account holder, and you would do so by using the $10 K limit for electronic purchase and the $5k Limit per direct deposit from a tax return, assuming you get a tax return.
The important point is that these limits are CUMULATIVE, meaning both can be used, for a total of 10 + 5 = 15.
THere is also an option for payroll dedcution, and i need to do an extra 2 minutes of due diligence to see how that might factor in,
So a good thing just got better,
I already set up my account in the time since i last posted, btw.
* and just for complete disclosure, the limits mentioned above are per year, so you could deposit in up to $15K per year.
That means you could do $15 K in November of this year (now), and in seven week, as we enter 2022, do another $15K,
Also, this would be for each individual, so your spouse could do another $15K per year if that is applicable in the case of your household.

Same can be said for my wife’s Acura TL. Bought it for my wife Valentines Day 2002. She still loves me and the car. 👹
Cars:
good for you guys.
I am not a fan of buying bigger vehicle than one needs, due to their negative impact on the environment. It's just my personal bias, but i feel the same way about price tag, too, with all the income inequality that plagues us.
I didn’t get a car during COVID, so I could have more cashflow to invest in crypto

Was this post for me? I have a 2009 Accord. It runs well but the exhaust is very smelly. I can't even have the windows down when I start the car, otherwise I breathe in exhaust. I feel bad for the neighbors when I drive by, and for the kids when I drop off my son at preschool.
I put down a deposit for a new RAV4 Prime plug in. It will arrive in about 3 months. I've only bought one new vehicle in my life before this. It has 7.5k federal tax credit and 1.5k state rebate so it's almost the same price as buying an ICE version. Look forward to the 42 EV miles and no range anxiety.
I've never bought a bond before. Is the money locked in for 5 years? Is 7% only for a certain amount of time?
no it is not locked up for 5 years.
from their site:
How long must I keep an I bond?
I bonds earn interest for 30 years unless you cash them first. You can cash them after one year. But if you cash them before five years, you lose the previous three months of interest. (For example, if you cash an I bond after 18 months, you get the first 15 months of interest.)

Agreed, also taking pension benefits when it’s in your favor, or keeping old Series E Savings Bonds when the rate is way superior to market.
Do people actually pay for this advice? If so, I may have missed my calling.

I think you do perfect as a Troll.
Meanwhile, you know little about the investment advice industry. So best to stay in your lane.

Of course not, you seem like a genuine person. No that was for the Troll. Long story, has gone on for over six years. Certified psycho. Actually scares my wife.

On your Accord, is it an engine issue, or do you need a new exhaust system? Accord engine are quite good, and can easily go 200,000 miles if serviced regularly.

I asked my mechanic friend and he just thinks the engine is getting old. I have 183k miles now. He says it isn't worth putting money into it since I can afford a new car. An AWD SUV is safer with the kid anyway.
Did you guys see Elon's tweet about selling 10% of his Tesla stock?

with that many miles, i agree, cut the losses and turn it in, life is too short and time too precious to drag it out with ongoing maint./repairs, esp. since new vehicles are virtually maint. free. But even more than that, and i did it to two different cars, there is simply no putting a price tag on the safety of your kids, and upgrading is the prudent thing to do if you can afford it.

It’s a Toyota Camry actually and it still runs like a dream. Paid cash for it. A much better investment than borrowing money to buy a status car. No honest financial advisor that I know would have recommended doing that.
