Why not just declare himself emperor *today*, like Napolean after exile?
You would need FDR level support to pull any of this off. You can't get anything done when you only have roughly 50/50 support from Americans and maybe 10% of federal workers... something he never seemed to learn and still hasn't.
The President has "roughly 50/50 support from Americans", yet only has "10% of federal workers"? Government jobs do not screen for political party, so government workers mirror the American electorate. These are people in it for the long haul to get to their retirement so they are not changing their politics or coming and going based on who is president. Many served under Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump and Biden and take their job seriously of protecting the laws, documents, infrastructure, etc. of America. This is the reason political appointments are approved by Congress and the President can't just fire anyone for being disloyal to him. If we allow that guardrail removed, we are MUCH closer to a dictatorship. Trump has openly stated he wants to achieve that.
Government workers do NOT mirror the electorate.
My best friend went into the Foreign Service with beliefs like Rush Limbaugh and after 20 years in the swamp and he's now left of Mao.
The DC area is a cess pit of government workers and it votes overwhelmingly Democrat.
You don't ever seem to apply these critical thinking skills you're so proud of.
Unionized workers are more likely to be Democrats than Republicans, whether they work for the government or the private sector. State workers are also more likely to be Democrats than are federal, local, or nongovernment work...
You guys get really upset about things that didn't even happen.
Fun fact, Trump tried to get rid of Rosen because Rosen didn't believe the election was stolen.
Rosen said Trump "turned to me and said — 'Well, one thing we know is you, Rosen, you aren't going to do anything. You don't even agree with the claims of election fraud, and this other guy at least might do something,'" referring to Clark.
The entire sham prosecution against Trump is built on the foundation that Trump supposedly didn't even believe the election was stolen himself.
If he didn't believe it why would he say that to Rosen?
You big piece of 💩. The orangeman knew he lost and knew that the election wasn't stolen. Now go ahead and finish your day the same way you started. Telling everyone in every post some sort of insult. I didn't tell you an insult. I described what you really are. That and a Fascist.
Well put you are again living up to your handle. Your post would be very hard to dispute.
There is something that I am having trouble fully understanding. "Believing their own caricatures" put much thought and effort into his post. He or she is confident in their perceptions and reasoning right?
How can you put that much thought into your ideas and completely ignore the elephant in the room (from the right's perspective).
Trump said he was going to be a dictator for the first day. He said he would ignore the laws and constitution that first day. And they are okay with that.
He refused the peaceful transfer of power. He fired and hired people based on their willingness to put loyalty to him over everything to help him keep power. He refused to stop the attack on the capital. No one has ever attempted that before. He convinced so many of the big lie and was so destructive to the country. How can "believing....." Be okay with that?

As I pointed out earlier, "Believing..." let the cat out of the bag in his oh-so-thoughtful post.
"Believing..." wrote "If it matters, for context I am someone who finds Trump as a person imperfect and off-putting. I wouldn't want to hang out with him. That doesn't mean I would vote for any of the recent Democratic presidential nominees, let alone the DNC puppet we have in office right now. I think it's potentially dangerous to have Biden in office with the current instability in the world as well."
"Believing . . . " is just another Trumpette (more than likely one of the folks who are always posting here under a registered handle), who "doesn't like Trump" (sure, dude). He is trying to hide behind a pseudo-thoughtful post but is unable to fully contain his Trumpette self.

Tristan, thanks for posting a serious reply. I really dislike that others have just gone after me. What happened to a reasonable debate based on facts?
In answer to your question, Tristan, why don't I address any of the issues posted on here about Trump. I did say that I don't like Trump personally, but I agree that that is pretty general. The reason I didn't isn't because I ignore these issues but because I don't want to argue back and forth on something I wasn't asking about and on which I'm not likely to convince people of disagreement. For example--
You said that 'Trump said he was going to be a dictator for the first day. He said he would ignore the laws and constitution the first day. And they are okay with that.' Trump was pressed on what he said and he said, “I want to close the border and I want to drill, drill, drill,” Trump said. “Other than that, I am not a dictator.” So the context was omitted. Especially when dealing with a bombastic man who seems to sometimes use malapropisms, context is key.
Another poster claims that I am OK with there being a chance that Trump will declare himself dictator for life and that Americans will go along with it. I'm OK with the chances of that in the same way that I'm OK with not worrying that a huge meteor is going to go through the St. Louis Arch tomorrow. It's not going to happen, and I believe talk of it is based on talking points put out by the DNC and fostered by some people's mistaken beliefs of how abnormal people who don't agree with them are.

I voted for Trump twice and will do so again if it's him against any of the current Democrats. That doesn't mean that I like him personally or agree with everything he's ever done. Some of his comments have been downright repellant.
As far as taking issue with my characterization of Biden, do you honestly think he's running the show? If he's just a figurehead, how else would you describe him? He takes every wacky thing donors want and tries to implement it as policy. If the DNC isn't calling the shots then maybe it's his individual cabinet members.
If you actually speak to people in person, you will find that many who vote for Trump aren't blind followers but principled people who are voting for the least bad alternative.

Yeah, it's those policies of Trump that are really good.

Nice try, though.
President Joe Biden has warned that American troops may have to fight Russians in Europe is military aid for Ukraine is blocked.

Do you believe Trump is guilty of any of the felonies is indicted for?
If the answer is no.
Are you OK with all the actions he took after he lost?
In other words, it would be Kosher for Biden to do the same if he lost in 2024.
You guys get really upset about things that didn't even happen.

Wow!
A-Dolt is using this quote by Trump firing his DNI in a pathetic attempt to prove Trump believed in fraud! (As if Trump did not have the ability to lie in that brief moment of time)
But the bigger issue is why are Trumpers ok purging just like an Autocrat. Trump fired this guy because he would not work with them on their felonies of staying in power. Trump wanted to hire Jeffrey Clark because he was the only guy that would write a lying letter saying there was fraud!
F-ing Hunter Biden is trying to avoid testifying at the Comer hearings. Compare this to the Trump children who were depositioned in closed hearings without trying to make a gigantic deal. Hunter is guilty as sin and everybody knows it. The Dems want to make it seem like it is not transparent, but in fact it is hypocritical given what Ivanka, Donald Jr, and Eric already did. He says he will testify in televised hearings, but it is political grandstanding on his legal team's part.

How can he be doing lines of crack if he is testifying? I don't think the Capitol allows crack into the building, but I might be mistaken because the White House did. Also, wasn't he the one insisting on a public hearing?

I thought Right Wingers were cool with blowing off subpoenas to testify. The list of those that have done so is quite long.
Smart move by the ex crack smoker though. He knows that right wingers will selectively leak stuff to spin their BS. Because that’s what they do. Why let them? He is willing to take them on in public.
Comer doesn’t like that because public hearings have been a humiliation towards his goals. An absolute sh!t show of embarrassment.

Ex-crack smoker. Yeah right. Just like John Daly is an ex-beer-drinker.

Ex crack smoker. Current crack smoker. I don’t care. He isn’t in public office. And he is a grown azz man. Just like I don’t care if Don Jr wants to get on Steve Bannons show with bloodshot eyes sniffing, swallowing and rambling like a coke head.
You imbeciles are so determined to conflate Hunter with Joe Biden it’s amusing to watch.
The article you posted is from 2011. Here is a more recent one from the same source, but it has historical data of the US voter makeup. Looking at 2011, the national voter makeup (41% independent, 32% democrat, 29% republican) was very close to the federal employee data in the 2011 article you posted (34% independent, 34% democrat, 30% republican).
In your friend's defense, Rush Limbaugh has been shown to be a fraud with his raging on drug users, then being a drug addict, raging on politics, but never registered to vote until his late 30s, rambling about family values and and being married 4 times.
Although the U.S. political party affiliation average for 2021 was similar to prior years, the country shifted from a nine-point Democratic preference early in the year to a five-point Republican advantage near the end.

Hunter Biden is exactly how corruption works in African countries. The leader's son is always running around "doing business" which all the corruption is routed thru.
The only American hostage rescued is the grandchild of someone who bought a Hunter Biden painting. One-in-a-million coincidence? I think not

Just so I am clear. You are a Trumper and have a problem with family members running around doing business disguising corruption.
