___ = be serious about immigration restrictions, cut taxes, reduce the size of the federal government, take on drug traffickers, “drain the swamp.”
There are innumerable ways to go about trying to achieve these things.
Many of his critics oppose the method(s), not the larger stated objective.
He is an unjustifiably overconfident huckster surrounded by yes men who are also mostly fools and miscreants, so most of the good objectives, in practice, wind up in a range from:
1. One step forward, two steps back to 2. No steps forward, nine steps back, and then lie and say you took twenty steps forward (that would've been thirty if it hadn't been for the Democrats and the Fake News Media).
Which is exactly like Rubio joining the administration of a man that attempted a coup.
Boy, you sure got me there.
Funny, a coup with little hand flags. Remember her name.
"I have been in law enforcement for almost 30 years, and in that time I have been involved in a number of critical incidents, and responded to a number of horrific scenes. The events on January 6, 2021, constituted the worst attack on law enforcement that I have seen in my entire career."
Does it ever occur to you that someone who is lying right out of the gate probably shouldn't be taken very seriously?
"fentanyl boat strikes" - Essentially all of the fentanyl brought into the US is produced in Mexico and smuggled into the US from there. Fentanyl is not produced in Venezuela and is not trafficked through Venezuela en route to the US.
Doesn't matter to you, does it? "Fentanyl boat strikes" just makes it all sound good, right? Even better, "kinetic fentanyl boat strikes."

"why do they call us fascists and say we hate the law??? it's not fair. We just want to kill whoever we want, when we want, where we want, no matter what laws and norms say! is that so bad??? stop calling us names!"
Obama ordered drone strikes like no president ever did before. And I don't think anyone complained since we want to kill terrorists at no risk to Americans. And to quote Hegseth, "We have only just begun to kill narco-terrorists."
"There were ten times more air strikes in the covert war on terror during President Barack Obama’s presidency than under his predecessor, George W. Bush. Obama embraced the US drone programme, overseeing more strikes in his first year than Bush carried out during his entire presidency. A total of 563 strikes, largely by drones, targeted Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen during Obama’s two terms, compared to 57 strikes under Bush. Between 384 and 807 civilians were killed in those countries, according to reports logged by the Bureau."
Tom Nichols @RadioFreeTom The Trump apologist checklist after Trump or his administration does something awful: 1. Fake news, it didn’t happen. 2. It might’ve happened, but it would be OK if it happened. 3. So it happened, so what. 4. Whatabout [insert names of various presidents here]

But if it DID come from Venezuela, at least it’s realistic to believe that it would come 1500 miles in small quantities in tiny boats.
It’s Sunday afternoon. How many GOP senators and representatives are going to go to work tomorrow and demand that that coequal branch proves that it’s not murdering drug suspects in boats?
Will there be a "winter of severe illness and death" for the unvaccinated?
Legitimate question IMO. And it looks like the answer is "maybe."
Australia had its worst flu season on record and the season started abnormally early. The season in Oz is usually a guide to the following one in the Northern Hemisphere, but NOTE: 1) Though infection rates were very high, it didn't appear that the major strain(s) of virus in Australia caused more severe disease. 2) BUT "Australia . . . did not face the same mutated H3N2 we have" in the Northern Hemisphere this year. (There was a sudden mutation in the summer.)
Now, this year's available flu vaccine was not formulated based on the mutated H3 strain. The vaccine should still afford some protection, and all the public health services are urging its use. Because this strain has an apparent R of ~1.4, it's going to spread fast--particularly among the unvaccinated, yes, but a good many of the vaccinated will contract it too.
There don't yet seem to be good numbers re the mortality/lethality/whatever-the-term-is of this strain, and the numbers won't be clearer until into the new year.
TL, DR:The flu will probably infect a lot of people this winter--many more than usual--but it's not clear whether death rates among those infected will be elevated or roughly normal.
[Full disclosure: In1997 I was terribly sickened by the flu and I haven't missed a flu shot since. Also haven't had the flu since, as near as I can tell, but if the R is really 1.4 I'd expect to get it--maybe on the subway, maybe from my students. I'd hope it's no worse than RSV, which hit me hard for a few days last winter.]
It’s not that important, but curious if those Schoolhouse Rock songs have been updated to include, “Then the President just decides to ignore the law,” and, “Then the Supreme Court decides that that’s perfectly OK” ?
I’m no Sherlock Holmes. But my investigative skills are telling me that a guy that immediately pardons a guy who trafficked hundreds of tons of cocaine, isn’t blowing up Hispanic boats because of drugs.
And it might have something to do with Stephen Miller telling Miles Davis in 2019 that he wanted to execute illegal immigrants in international waters. And felt he had the legal right to do so.
Everyone is gawking at that insane picture of Trump asleep at his dinning table at Mar A Lardo.
What I find both shocking and hilarious is Trump wears a white polo shirt embroidered with “Donald J Trump - President of the United States” on his right chest.
What in the actual Fucq did his father do to him to make him so broken and needy?
"In fact, it’s estimated that DOGE’s “savings” were exaggerated by more than 95 percent. Of the more than $50 billion DOGE claimed to have saved, only $1.4 billion could be verified — and not a single dollar went back to the Treasury to reduce the deficit. At the same time, Trump was working with Republicans on his so-called Big Beautiful Bill, which is expected to increase the federal deficit by $4 trillion. Not a cent of that money will be seen in any tangible way by most Americans. It’s the largest investment in nothing this nation has ever seen."
"In a Gallup poll conducted from Nov. 3-25, 36% approved of Trump's job performance, down from 41% in October. That approaches Trump's lowest-ever approval rating of 34% in 2021, near the end of his first term after the Jan. 6 Capitol Riot, according to Gallup. Trump's previous low approval rating during his second term, Gallup says, was 37% in July."

As the article (Rolling Stone) says:
"[The] United States launched airstrikes on terrorists in disputed areas all the time, Miller said, or retaliated against pirates commandeering ships off the coast of Somalia"
"‘Admiral,’ [Miller] said to the military chief nearly thirty years his senior, ‘I don’t think you understand the limitations of international law.’"
“So a Venezuelan President allegedly involved in drug trafficking is bad, but a Honduran President who helped traffick enough cocaine to give a 100% pure gram to every man, woman, and child in America gets a full pardon? Ain’t that some indefensible bullsh!t”!
Reporter: You have made so clear how you want to keep drugs out of the US— Trump: Right Reporter: Can you explain why you would pardon a notorious drug trafficker? Trump: I don’t know who you are talking about Reporter: Juan Orlando Hernandez Trump: Many of the people of Honduras said it was a Biden setup. I looked at the facts and agreed with them. Reporter: What evidence can you share that it was a setup? Trump: You can take any country you want, if somebody sells drugs in that country, that doesn’t mean you arrest the president and put him in jail for the rest of his life.
Why are we talking about striking alleged drug boats? This is wasting time and energy - time and energy that could be devoted to helping our greatest ally.
22 States do not want to send their SNAP data to the Trump Administration to verify immigration status. 21 of the 22 have Democrat Governors. Now why do you think they are resisting? Because the fraud in the SNAP data is staggering. Illegals are getting it. Millions of them
