Could Comey and James sue Hallharans and the DOJ for unlawful prosecution?
Can Trump sue Biden, Garland, and Deranged Jack "what was his name before the change" Smith for malicious and unlawful prosecution?
Sure. As they say, you can (almost) always sue--the question is whether you'll win.
Grand juries, like regular trial juries, tend to take their responsibilities seriously--more seriously than a lot of people realize--and indicting a ham sandwich is not the slam dunk that popular opinion says.
Enough evidence was presented to the multiple grand juries to establish prima facie cases against Donald Trump. He was looking at a lot of prosecutions because there were a lot of reasons to think that he very possibly had committed a lot of crimes.
I haven't been here in several months, but I see that the inflammatory dialogue is still going strong.
Apparently, there was a separate discussion thread dedicated to the infamous "Quiet, quiet, piggy!" comment, but it looks like the mods deleted it. I assume that the hardcore MAGA zealots tried to find some way to justify that type of petulant behavior, and the ensuing discourse simply went too far.
Happy holidays, runners. Hopefully, everyone finds a healthier way to spend their free time over the next five or six weeks.
But it’s ok if we go back to wasting our time in January?
All joking and snark aside, it makes me sad that significant numbers of Americans now seem to be saying that statch rape isn't that bad. And not just incels, but fathers of daughters. Just sad.
To be fair: Since he left office, GWB has been pretty consistent in avoiding the spotlight; and, as far as I know, Bill Clinton is not a well man. (And we know about Biden, of course.)
Obama has been getting out some. TBH I wonder about his health, too: He's younger than all those other guys (not that young: 64 now), but the smoking could catch up with him.
“Avoiding the spotlight” was perfectly fine from 2008 until…sometime no later than earlier this year.
Presidents are way too important, and we as a country choose to make them even more important. If the default was to hear very little from them after they left office, that would be fine.
But this country currently needs all the help it can get. George W. shouldn’t get credit for being “consistent” as we face the death of our democracy.

Millions upon millions of fathers of daughters have voted between one and three times for a guy who showed off about grabbing daughters in the pu***.
These unelected Democrat rogue judges are a huge problem in our country today. Our founding fathers never intended for them to wield this much power. Comey and James should be in jail for what they did to Trump.
"[O]ne who makes a timely challenge to the constitutional validity of the appointment of an officer ... is entitled to relief. . . . In such cases, which necessarily involve a Government actor's exercise of power that the actor did not lawfully possess, the proper remedy is invalidation of the ultra vires action. . . . Invalidation follows directly from the government actor's lack of authority to take the challenged action in the first place. That is, winning the merits of the constitutional challenge is enough."
"The Appointments Clause is among the significant structural safeguards of the constitutional scheme."
"The Framers gave Congress a pivotal role in the appointment of principal and inferior officers. That role cannot be usurped by the Executive Branch or diffused elsewhere—whether in this case or in another case, whether in times of heightened national need or not. In the case of inferior officers, that means that Congress is empowered to decide if it wishes to vest appointment power in a Head of Department, and indeed, Congress has proven itself quite capable of doing so in many other statutory contexts."
"Here, as in Lucia, the appropriate remedy is invalidation of the officer's ultra vires acts. . . . All actions that flowed from his defective appointment—including his seeking of the Superseding Indictment on which this proceeding currently hinges [ECF No. 85]—were unlawful exercises of executive power."

Where are you seeing that a significant of Americans are downplaying statch rape and saying it "isn't that bad?" No one I hang out with is saying that.
Trump successfully ran out the clock on the charges that would have most likely have carried prison time, having been reelected as President and the prosecutor deciding to drop the case, citing DOJ policy to not prosecute a sitting President.
Give me a break. So they'll pick back up in 2028, you're saying? Wanna bet? They were trying to stop him from being President, tobacco boy.
No crime was invented.
He played loose and fast with the estimated worth of his properties to maximize their values for collateral while minimizing their values to limit tax liability. Do you doubt that?
He falsified business records with respect to his hush money payment to Stormy Daniels. Do you doubt that?
He refused numerous requests from The National Archives to return records that belonged to the government and not Donald Trump. Do you doubt that?
He called up state officials in Georgia and asked them to find him an extra 12,000 votes so that he could win the state. Do you doubt that?
He asked VP Pence to reject a number of state electoral votes so that the election would then get sent to the House as a Contingency Election where GOP state delegations outnumbered Democratic state delegations to then hand him the Presidency, and when Pence refused, he incited a riot to disrupt the certification in a last ditch attempt to hold on to power. His attorney John Eastman worked out the whole plan. Do you doubt that?
Trump has no respect for the constraints of the law so it’s not surprising that he broke so many.

The bank realized everyone acts like Trump - inflate value for loan purposes, deflate it for taxes. They did their own investigation and weren’t harmed at all. As to the 34 sham felonies, Bragg invented a new way to charge the Democrats’ biggest rival - Trump. That case was a complete kangaroo court

Trump lived in Manhattan for decades and even with Democrat AGs not a single felony indictment. He announces that he will seek re-election and lo and behold he is charged with like 90 felony indictments. Just a clown show by the Dems.

It’s not like there’s any added spotlight that comes with being President of the United States.
Have you come up with a reason to explain why Bob Menendez was targeted by Biden’s DOJ?

Menendez did a lot of bad and his Dem party served him up as a sacrificial lamb. He was not well-liked and the party decided to throw him overboard.

Please cite anything reliable that Trump’s lenders believed that they were not harmed by receiving millions less interest payments than they would have received had Trump been honest about the values of his properties.

Trump just sent out a Thanksgiving fundraising email asking people to send him money so he can fight an alleged attempt by Democrats to impeach him: “I need YOU to be extra generous during the holidays!”
