Killian Jornet's Everest summit might not have happened

Regarding Andy Tavin's 56 page report.

GPS proves nothing.

GPS tracking to the "summit" proves nothing.

GPS only adds to Photographic proof and Video proof.

GPS itself, without photos, without videos, proves nothing.

All GPS tracking can be manipulated.

Tracking points (waypoints) can be made, and false tracking can be made.

GPS electronics experts can easily do this. It just takes time.

Kilian, and his supporters, have had 5 months to do this.

Dan Howitt provided a shocking and concise report unearthing his multi-fraud in November 2017.

Kilian from then to now (May 2018) had time to fabricate a post-Howitt response to try to save himself.

You have been used by Kilian to perpetuate some of his fraud as the truth. Sadly.

Kilian told Howitt the 3-photo group sent to him contains 1 of his summit photos [the dark photo of the three, linked below}. Then he told others and you it is not the summit.

-CONCLUSION-

If Kilian reached the summit, for either of his climbs, or both, he had ample opportunity to take many summit photos and videos.

He has, nothing, for either climb, except, dark photos and dark video that show, nothing.

Gopro technology has incredible lighting that would illuminate the summit surface, the summit flags, etct, well enough to show him clearly on the summit.

His photos and video, upclose, of his GPS watch, is a well known fraud trick, including used by Chad Kellogg.

Kilian has used you to perpetuate his fraud. Your report is a threat to the truth. He has abused you with GPS electronics data to try to save himself and "proved" at least one summit via you. Sad. You lack a grasp of reality and have allowed yourself to be deceived with elaborate electronics data.

So, has there been any final decision regarding this attempt? Did he make it or not? Did he ever provide verifiable proof that he reached the summit?

At the moment we're still arguing over which one these mentally disturbed obsessives was first to question his claims and who has the better evidence to support their theory.

Once we've got that figured out we can move on to the side issue of whether or not Jornet lied.

I would be very interested in seeing this demonstrated. Technically, there is nothing to stop the alteration of high frequency GoPro GPS data but I have not seen Jornet or his team demonstrate such advanced capability.

I showed in my report what tools I used to extract the data.

I won't speculate on that last point.

My rebuttal of Jornet's response to the public release of my report is now done. I've added it as Section 21 - ADDENDUM 1 to the report that includes Jornet's response along with my detailed rebuttal. The report is now 75 pages in total length. I recommend you read all of the addendum. Here is the summary of the addendum:

Its strange you, repeatedly, say "high frequency" GoPro GPS data. Kilian's Suunto GPS watch is more advanced than his GoPro Video GPS. Kilian is sponsored by Suunto. He used his Suunto during both climbs. Howitt showed the Suunto data shows he did not summit for either 1st or 2nd climb. Kilian had his watch on at all times. Kilian did not have his GoPro video on at all times - not even nearly.

Your report and your posts here on letsrun com are unprofessional and tabloid like and talkshow like. Especially your repetitive update teasers. You seem to like the tabloid drama and luring people into your weeks of teasers and play by play updates. Unprofessional journalism. You're into the drama emotion and tabloid.

I find nothing in your report better than Howitt's. Your obsession with the electronics data distracts from the major issues. You assume the electronics can prove or disprove Kilian's climbs. Electronics alone are worth zero. GPS is known to produce great errors, inaccuracies, etct. To reply on GPS alone shows you lack an understanding of mountaineering verification. You ignore the main issues - no video no photos for either 1st or 2nd climb. You ignore how GoPro Hero 05 and 06 have incredible lights to illuminate large areas, Kilian also had his own light, he had 100% opportunity to take illuminated photos and video of himself at the summit of his 1st and 2nd climb. You ignore this.

"High frequency" GPS data. Your repetative saying this is tabloid drama. And false. GoPro GPS data is not special and not "high frequency". Suunto GPS's are extremely advanced and all that's needed. Kilian had a top quality Suunto and Suunto is a sponsor of his.

The bigger problem is you have some novice “investigator” with no resume or qualifications for undertaking the investigation. He is the exact dupe/foil I would want to give fabricated evidence to.

It seems we will never know if he ever made it to the summit of Everest and that should be his problem. Surely the burden of proof is on the man making the claim. It shouldn’t require a 75 page report from some unknown guy in a basement with no resume or actual expertise in the area he is reporting on.

He's done excellent work exposing Kilian's cover-up fraud. Howitt exposed his primary fraud, and Tavin is exposing his cover-up fraud.

Kilian should now publicly state on his website and to the media he will return to Everest in the future to try to obtain 100% summit verification (video, photos, witnesses).

He should additionally state on his website and to the media he will retract his May 2017 1st and 2nd Everest summit claims and tell the public he does not have photo/video/witness proof that he was at either summit, and apologize for his mistakes, and state he will return to Everest in the future to try to do it right.

Note - all 2017 Everest summitters have photos and videos of themselves at the summit. Howitt ascertained this as of the two months, as reported to the Himalayan Database and Alan Arnette (Everest chronicler alanarnette. com) Kilian is the sole person of 2017 of the hundreds of climbers who claim being at the summit who has zero summit photos/video.

OK, show your work. Download the video and change the gps data so that it goes around Everest instead of to the top.

Just saying something is possible doesn't make it practical. Since it is so easy though please do this simple task and get back to us.
