Again, completely unrelated, but if “he” truly did not do anything to break the rules, that would probably do pretty well in a court of law. I think the court of public opinion is a little different
Jonathan Gault has looked into the situation and after weeks of work has produced this story:

Completely unrelated to anything being talked about here, but the best defense for a defamation case is the truth…or so lawyers say
We already know if this goes to court the truth will come out so there’s only two situations where this ends: Seth openly comes out and says it himself or takes it to court and then let the truth come out there
Seth if you’re reading these threads I strongly suggest you file suit against all those who defamed you on instagram.
This is a slam dunk case if you are innocent.
Championships obviously matter, but as a fellow D3 runner I will say it is a bad look to see all of the best D3 runners in the country going on Instagram to slander SC when he runs faster than them.
Makes our division look like whiny complainers. The top guys should get off social media and train more, as SC should be used as motivation to elevate D3 and lead to multiple 13:30s or better 5k runners and 7:40s 3k runners.
Matthai Twins Youtube, Chasen Hunting for why he dropped out of UNC, LeBlond, etc, hit the track and get better.
Then when he clears his name after his breakout season he can finally live out every D3 kids dream of breaking into the big leagues and rubbing elbows with the best of D1!
The only catch to that, is if it is true then it is not slander. The most draining part for anyone in this situation is the guesswork. People on both sides just have to be so sick and tired of it all. It would be a huge weight off everyone's backs if it was just done and over with. Innocent or not, it should just be addressed and moved on with. This should really not be a 25 page thread in all honesty, it should just be over and out.
After overhearing folks go on about how he’s been tested, etc, worth noting that EPO and peptides need a blood test and are out of system very quickly. Proverbial Lance Armstrong “never tested positive” caveat. Easy to justify and have plausible deniability as coaches and athlete.
Note that I am not a lawyer, so someone who actually is (I’m sure there are some on these boards) can provide better commentary, but anyone claiming Seth has an actual case for a claim of libel against anonymous users posting to LetsRun has a deep misunderstanding of what constitutes libel.
For starters, Seth’s hypothetical lawyer would need to prove that such anonymous comments are being presented as facts, not opinions, to be considered defamatory. This is quite a barrier to begin with, as most would likely agree that the majority of posts here are opinions.
The second condition of publication to a third party holds.
Negligence of posters would need to be proven. Like condition #1, this seems essentially impossible for even the smartest lawyer. Given the information available, I do not know of a single “reasonable” person who would, at the very least, not be suspicious of the situation.
Finally, there needs to be proof of damages to Seth. Did an anonymous post ruin his reputation? Not likely.
So again, for anyone who thinks there is a case here for libel, I think you are completely mistaken. Now, if some major publication were to create an article stating as a fact that Seth doped with no care for journalistic due diligence, maybe you would have a case. I have not seen any such instance since this whole thing has started.

Unfortunately our sport doesn’t care about integrity or investigating to find out the truth. If the higher ups just went to work at the first moment of this whole scandal to find the truth then we wouldn’t be at this point already. Since it’s division 3 I doubt ncaa or wada or usada will give a crap about any of this because all they want is $$$$. I guess it’s up to the voice of the people to maybe get this whole thing situated
Very insightful! In that case, it is my opinion that he is doping :)

it’s a better look for them to speak out on an issue that they care about than stay silent about it. if you look at division 1 is always split between who’s taking sides but in this case it’s everyone vs Rowan and sc. all the top guys want is either a clean truth or a clean sport and the only way that will happen is if the REAL truth comes out from Seth himself or in court
Truth is he is clean and he will break most of the D3 records. End of story.

Truth is this would be all out to rest if the truth came out from him and not his band of horses
Another comedian. What format does his statement have to be made in for you to believe that he is innocent?
It’s not rare when people come from high school to college, especially in D3 for college to drop a lot. UW-Whitewater just graduated Patzka who had numerous national titles in track and Cc. He ran 4:31 and 9:40 in hs and finished college with 8:32 steeple 3:45 1500 and 13:47 5k indoors as PRs. Schlender also just graduated from whitewater. Ran 10:03 3200 in hs and finished college with 8:05 3k and 13:59 PRs.

"It's not rare"
Then proceeds to only list two cases....... making it seem pretty rare

Yea and no one batted an eye about the validity of their performances. Why do you think that is?

yea but we have big seth's "alleged" email
Even if seth was running 15:20 right now he'd be guilty. Running a minute PR is just the nail in the coffin.
