Around the social media and here at Lets Run, all the talk is about Republicans vs Democrats.
It is crazy how critical thinking has been destroyed by tribalism / pack mentality.
Why do people refer to themselves as one or the other? It’s about us versus them. It would be totally reasonable for one side to vote the other way because of researching the candidates really well.
In this case it doesn’t matter how messed up DJT is, he represented a gang and had a very simplistic approach. More people are uneducated/minimally educated in the US than educated. The very people who wanted what DJT was selling (jobs, etc) needed that but you have to be gullible to think that DJT cares one iota about the average person.
Harris, on the other hand made the same mistake Hillary Clinton did, talked at an PhD sort of level to people who just to watch sports, drink beer and buy toys….
No one listened to Bernie Sanders, not because he is too left, too old or lacked charisma. It was because everyone wanted to be on a winning team, it’s a close race each time.
Not really a good example of a democracy - at least not the way it was intended.
Great post
There would be bipartisanship on something like this in Australia. The way our govt is elected, sure one of the two major parties always wins, but it is non presidential and with a 'two party preferred' system, where preferences from other parties determine vote, there has to be a wider reach from either party leading to very centrist govt. Not 100% perfect but close.
People also don't 'talk politics' or give a rats who you vote for in terms of friendship, socialising etc. It goes a long way to prevention of such actions.
We have only 'lost' (yes completely) a PM in a surf drowning
I can’t disagree with you. The right wing media started the whole thing two decades ago with Rush, Hannity, O’Reilly, Savage, and a host of others. They began the whole hyperbolic hatred directed towards those of us on the Left they disagreed with and made every culture issue and policy personal. It is their fault that things have escalated to where they are now. No question.
What happened to Kirk is a tragedy. Nobody deserves what happened to him. I do have to say though that he and the other Right Wing young enthusiasts with the Daily Mail and some of the Daily Mail former employees were quite honestly instigators. Going to college campuses and telling liberal students they are dumb. Telling them their education is a waste of time and to pursue blue collar jobs. Knocking all of their beliefs without listening to their side.
I’m sorry, but Kirk was a huge hypocrite. He never worked a real job a day in his life and had everything given to him, but was somehow convinced he had the right to tell struggling poor young people how to live their lives. He wasn’t the only one. Candace Owens and Ben Shapiro are just as bad. Watch some of those campus talks. He was insulting and demeaning.
I’m not saying at all that he got what was coming to him, but when you insult tens of thousands of people on campuses, calling them lazy and stupid…..I’m just saying. I feel like something like this was unfortunately bound to happen.
Say that you think that he had this coming without saying that he had it coming...

The dude literally said Kamala Harris "talked at an PhD sort of level" and you think it's a great post?
Are you thick?
You seriously think Kamala Harris or Hillary Clinton lost because they were too smart...
this will be someone military or into guns. we're talking about a single accurate shot from 1-2 football fields away.
not to brag, but I’m hitting over 80% GIR with my 6 iron from this distance. My guess is from that elevation, and low wind, with a sitting target, the skill set isn’t as incredible as you are guessing depending on the caliber and rifle setup. The shooter was also most likely in a prone position. This helps
Wait, is it a "racist," someone against the systemic oppression of all non-blacks (but especially whites) in education, employment, funding, courts, media, etc? Or is it actual racist, someone (some type of Democrat or Leftist fellow traveler) for the continuation and expansion of the racist status quo?

Shut up, racist.
I'm not a racist, you racist. Unless you consider that "equality under the law" is racism, which apparently you do, and I'm OK with being labeled a racist under that definition.

It was Eric Cartman.
In all seriousness though, it's absolutely hilarious that Trey and Matt, creators of South Park and self proclaimed Libertarians, would compare Charlie Kirk to Eric Cartman. Cartman is quite literally the personification of all of America's imperfections. Kirk will NOT be missed.
