Lewis Johnson is SUCH an idiot. Grant Fisher having to correct him that worlds are in Tokyo, not Paris.
Get this clown off the television.
Really? Overall he's very professional interviewer and probably the best on NBC's staff. He has one minor slip of the touge and you call him an idiot? I'm sure you would do much better.
Blanks is the one who has to take it earlier there. Just got outkicked by Nico and Grant on Thursday and just oodles of kickers in that race, including the gold medalist in the 1500. Graham can’t let that be a 13:25 race. Just overestimating his chances in that kind of race.
Honestly Nico made a few tactical errors- going wide on the curves, running extra distance, going a little too early..and still pulled off 3rd place. Grant too- boxed in for 3/4 of the race. I think this 5000m showed Grant and Nico are on a whole different level than Graham who was a non factor in this unfortunately. I thought his strength would allow him to not be so beat up today.
Really impressed by Hocker. Gutted for Cooper and Drew, but you have to be ready to medal to make the US team.
Hocker needs to do the right thing and drop the 5k to focus on the 1500m at Worlds. The people need to see Drew Hunter in a World championship race.
Hocker has the ability to win gold if it’s a slow 5k.
As long as the Ethiopians continue to sacrifice themselves we won't get a slow 5k. Even if it's slow to 3k you can trust Jakob to close it hard because he's just as scared of Hocker's kick
The 5000/10000 is extremely doable and Fisher and Young have said in multiple interviews that they are going to run both events. The 1500/5000 is also fine, and Cole has said he intends to double. It’s after the 1500 so nothing to lose. Jakob has shown that. I don’t think anyone else has any hope of one of those three dropping the 5000.
Sure, let Cole go to the front and slow it down for 11 laps then give the best kicker in the world the inside lane in the homestretch. What were these guys thinking?
I wonder how the results would’ve changed if Grant had gone at 1K out like he planned..
Like Sha'Carri post Budapest, good job Thomas cashed in after Paris.
She's looking like a bit of a one and done. Just doesn't have the 100m speed.
Erm she made the team. She traditionally runs her best 200m race in Eugene. Maybe this year she is at her best in the 200m final. I don’t think it’s altogether a bad thing if she can rally over the next 6 weeks.
