You don't get to say what his main event is. Glad to remind you.
He races the 1500 more than any other event. So that's his main event - unless you don't understand English. It just doesn't happen to be his best event.
Maybe it is you who doesn't understand competitive running. My main event is the steeplechase and I run the 1500m, 3000m and 5000m more often.
Ingebrigtsen is climbing up the all-time ranking fast.
Definitely in the top 10 now. Who is still ahead of him? Bekele, Gebrselassie, Kipchoge, El Guerrouj. And then? He already could be number 5. And he is still only 24. Still some gap to the top, but his big goal, to become the undisputed number 1, seems possible.
Nope. He's going to keep getting beaten over the 1500/mile by the next guy. They've caught up with him and have better finishes. He is unlikely to get the 5k wr and he will never figure in the 10k.
How do you rank his chances to get the 5900m WR?
All of the 23 3000m WR holders have also had the 5000m WR or were close to it.
So Jakob is as good as Walker, see Army? Oh wait, but Walker gave up 130m from the end in Düsseldorf while in 3rd place. I guess you think it's better to be a quitter than to have the guts to try and finish 4th.
Walker won the Olympic final he had to win, and he was also the mile world record-holder. That's a double Ingebrigtsen has never achieved.
To list Ingebrigtsen's achievements which Walker never did, you would need pages.
Paul Ruto won the 800m at the WCs, something Coe never achieved. And now?
Ingebrigtsen would have been beaten by Kerr, Fisher and Hocker.
This is nonsense. Fisher was in Ingebrigtsen's WR 3000m race and finished DFL. He was 3rd in the 2023 Eugene DL, almost 2s behind Ingebrigtsen (who had run the 3rd fastest mile of all time the day prior). Ingebrigtsen is 3-0 lifetime against Fisher at 3000m (and the same at 5000m). There is absolutely zero evidence that shows Fisher is capable of beating Ingebrigtsen over 3000m. Meanwhile Hocker is 0-2 against Fisher at 3000m and two miles (and the same at 5000m).
I'll admit you'd have liked the Kerr of last year's indoor season in the Nanjing 3000m, but the only result he's posted this year is a DNS, and you have no clue as to what kind of shape he's in after dealing with illness and injury.
You have to go back a couple of years to make your arguments. You fail to see how other runners have improved since then. They are now capable of beating Ingebrigtsen - especially in a slow race that is far shorter than 5k.
Ingebrigtsen would have been beaten by Kerr, Fisher and Hocker.
Coulda woulda shoulda doesn't get you pregnant, sorry to say. Those losers should have showed up to the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS if they wanted the recognition and glory, instead of ignoring their fans.
That's a different point. They are still capable of beating Ingebrigtsen in a slow race.

Ingebrigtsen would simply not make it a slow race then, like he did when he broke the world record and reduced Fisher to finishing DFL because he couldn't handle it.

So you're comparing yourself to Ingebrigtsen? You've just proven your vanity.
You are also unable to distinguish between "best" event and "main" event. The latter is the one an athlete chiefly focuses on and races most often. In Ingebrigtsen's case it is the 1500. It may not be his best event - as his recurrent defeats show.

As said, he didn't know Aregawi (3rd, not 2nd fastest) at all. Confronted with his own ignorance, he just can change the subject - his last option.
Aregawi, 3rd fastest in history, is one of the best.
So what. He's just one runner. It wasn't like an Olympic final where Ingebrigtsen would be running against all of the best. Most stayed away from the indoor champs.

40%?
What other runners achieved has nothing to do with what he does. He's better over shorter distances. So far he's shown he can win in a slow race over 5k. Until he gets a move on I don't rate his chances of beating 12:35.

Deflection. Walker was a great 1500/miler who achieved something Ingebrigtsen has far failed to do, to win Olympic 1500 gold and be the world record holder over the mile (and the first to beat 3:50).
Aregawi isn't one of the best over 3k. He's a longer distance runner.
Aregawi is the third fastest 3000m runner of all time.
There were other runners capable of beating Ingebrigtsen who didn't compete. The best in the world weren't there. That's why the indoor titles don't rate like the outdoor titles.
That's a different point. They are still capable of beating Ingebrigtsen in a slow race.

We saw what happened when Ingebrigtsen took on the role of pacemaker.
