Ever watch the plethora of videos online where cops violated the rights of citizens? Maybe widen your view and not just assume the bend over perspective?
Nah. If you have an IQ over 70,
1) you don't cross police lines
2) you simply walk away if the police tell you to walk away
3) don't start screaming like an imbecile the same thing over an over again.
Ever watch the reality crime shows? That's common, the perps and bystanders just yell the same thing over and over..

You bend over for criminals...lol...probably been arrested before..right?
The power tripping cops should have let him retrieve his car and go home like he was intending. Plain and simple.
On top of being a nuisance to a random man, the police demonstrated an abusive overuse of force and weapons. These pigs should be fired or at least immediately put on leave pending investigation, but they're probably protected by their friends controlling the criminal gang that's that particular police force. They have a culture of looking the other way for one another when abusive and/or law breaking cops do their dirty work. Typically, the only way a cop is ever held accountable is when there's video from a bystander posted online. Then their cover ups and lies become moot and they know it.

Car was just an excuse, the cops were mad about Kerley always prancing around in quarter-length spandex at track meets.
Why are you concerned about what another man is wearing? Does it make you uncomfortable (wink wink)? Do you have something to tell us?👀 Be your true self, we support you.
I also like how Kerley was telling the cop "you are weak". This is the same 6'3" 210 pound Kerley who was chocking his 5'2 100 pound wife. Yeah Fred, you are real strong tough guy!

4) you don't choke your wife......twice.
end of story
1) There wasn't a police line. If there was, there were many other people right there too
2) Legally don't have to
3) Again not a crime
4) Yes you should not put your hand on another individual. This goes for the cops as well.
In the absence of case law or a statute authorizing them to do so, no, the police can’t just order you to do things.
But with that said, if you disobey them, you’re probably going to get arrested and be forced to litigate the issue, even if unlawful, later.
This is the difference between being book smart and common sense smart in how you react to them. Sure, a lot of YouTubers may be technically right, but their advice will still get you arrested and it will often still not even be worth the time and resources to sue the police anyway.
as a society we need to sort this out and reign out of control police in, but on the individual level, litigating with the police on the street usually won’t get the outcome you want. Even if you’re right. And worst case an officer will use lethal force on you and then still have a fighting chance at immunity anyway (and they know this)
We are living in a parallel universe. Our cities are unlivable hellholes, over run by murder, rape, carjackings, gang violence, 50 people shot by ganbangers some weekends in Chicago and no one cares, a woman being burned alive on a NYC subway car, streets overflowing with drug use tents, needles and the stench of feces and you got the people in the other parallel universe who think that wife choking criminals such as Fred are not the problem, it is the police. It took us 70 years of cultural decay to think the bad guy are good guy and the good guys are bad guys. "Ignorance Is Strength" - Orwell 1984

They are both issues. Many police officers are issues. So are criminals.
It doesn’t take much brainpower to realize both law enforcement agencies as well as others are separate existing issues. Even MAGA people agree on this at this point.

Yes and you exactly hit on the problem. Your house is burning down and you correctly point out and focus on the lightbulb in the living room that needs replacing. Keep focusing on the right things and you will go far in life. You are a man of great perspective and reasoning ability!
I have a few very close family members who are current and retired police officers. And it all really depends on what officer you’re dealing with. On one side of the spectrum, one guy is most laid back and even keeled man you’d ever meet in your life, on the other side is a complete control freak who takes a weird pleasure in terrorizing people in his personal life, his wife and his kids (extended family), and even gets highly aggressive with employees and strangers while off duty. He has a holier than thou mentality about his entire life and thinks he’s a huge gritty success story because he grew up poor. The guy is insufferable at times.
Not justifying Fred Kerley’s actions by any means, but I can totally see how situations get escalated way beyond what they need to be. Truly, is being in control of the situation blowing it up and calling for back-up, arresting more people not involved in the incident? I wasn’t there to make that call, but I do know some people’s idea of controlling the situation is upping the aggression and non negotiation. I can empathize with trying to get home after a long day, or maybe having to pick someone up, anything urgent, and having to wait because some other doorknob is breaking the law.
You can tell there's a certain amount of people who truly love this. The idea of cops beating up on a black man, especially a successful athlete, is great fun for them.
Their not bootlickers their boot shiners. I look forward to Trump doing nothing whatsoever about immigration, and more Latinos cartel boys coming over the border. Him and musk will bring more Indian IT wizards over and the whinging white redneck will continue his descent into misery.
The cops ain't on your side and Trump certainly ain't.
I love you Fred ❤️. You are not perfect like none of us are but your a great athlete and deserve much better.
When you can't out reason them, play the ole race card. Very original. I bet you learned that in college or watching TV.
So, in your view, young black males and young white males receive the same treatment from the cops by and large?
Regardless of race, yes people are going to get treated much worse by police if,
1) they cross police lines
2) they start screaming obscenities at police and take a confrontational stance
3) they shove police
4) they commit felonies
5) they have outstanding warrants.
6) they run from the police when told to stay put
7) they resist arrest.
8) they continue to resist arrest when it is obvious and futile to continue to resist
9) they keep resisting even after cuffed.
10) they keep resisting even after being warned they are about to be tased.
11) they are hanging out at a crime scene.
12) they interfere with a police investigation
It is really simple if you open your mind a little and start thinking for yourself and not just be brainwashed by what some sociology professor "taught you".
Some people may even conclude it is all simple commonsense.
