Years ago I gave up on the MYC marathon TV coverage so today I thought I would tune in at 3pm to watch the 2 hour highlights show.
50 min in and so far less than 5 min or race coverage. Got to see the start of the 2 wheelchair and 2 elite races and then about 3 min of coverage of the mens wheelchair race.
What a POS show
in 2 hours a total of 2 min and 40 seconds of coverage of the elite races
Des is loved by marathon crowds (as witnessed personally in Brooklyn), co-hosts the most popular running podcast, and ran well enough to get paid 3 ways today:
Im sure others have said so, but, even though Clayton and Mantz are a few minutes behind those guys, I feel 100% sure theyre clean. Anybody who slights them for not doing better is off-base in my book! Great run, guys!

in what other sports is this considered coverage?
Every year coverage for majors in the USA gets worse , is this TCS fault ? You see , races in Europe are not like this

Explain what you’re complaining about. This was a race. There was TONS of coverage of wheelchair racing and interviews of the average Joe Schmo. Obviously the race is about the elite top runners - they’re the ones up front. What are you looking for beyond that for coverage ??
Well here we go again. Is anyone else somewhat annoyed that the race favorites are discussed in one section and American men in another? Pretty much being treated like two separate races.
Too bad there is not more incentive for some of our sub 13 min 5000m guys to try the marathon earlier.
Will we have more than 2 American men ahead of the first woman?
What about a mixed relay. East African men and American women v American men and East African women?
^^^ What is the actual story here?? I heard there was a runner who died from hypothermia post-race--also 24 and also named Simon Sassoon.
Dr. Ray Peralta says hypothermia is "an invisible threat many runners face" which is a lot like saying weight gain is an invisible threat many eaters face. (
I was contacted by a friend of Simon. Who informed me that Simon passed away from hyperthermia after finishing the Marathon. An invisible threat many runners face. The friend is not aware of any underlying health conditions....
