“Democrats don’t want you to know and Kamala Harris doesn’t talk about how her father, Don Harris, was a Marxist professor and taught Marxist economics at Stanford. The Stanford Daily in 1975 reported that the appointment of Harris was the culmination of a six-month "round-the-world" search for the most qualified Marxist professor available, that he was “one of the leading young people in Marxist economics.” He reportedly pushed for more Marxist professors to be hired. The Stanford Daily labeled him a “Marxist scholar” in 1976; he was hired in 1972. He became the first Black scholar to be granted tenure in its economics department. There was opposition to giving him tenure because he was “a pied piper leading students astray from neo-Classical economics.” His work questioned capitalism, advocated income redistribution and challenged orthodox assumptions about growth — for instance, that lower interest rates always result in increased investment. He was quoted as saying “I have heard no worthwhile arguments against Marxian economics.” While at Stanford, the school offered courses in 1975-76 including “Marxian Social Change," and "Marxist Economic Theory." He wrote about Karl Marx in his book, “Capital Accumulation and Income Distribution,” that “Marx was the theorist of economic growth par excellence” and “the Marxian system remains today as a powerful basis upon which to construct a theory of growth of the capitalist economy appropriate to modern conditions.” He played a small role in the formation of the Workers Party in Jamaica led by Trevor Munroe.”
