Read the thread title lol. This site is heavily moderated. There is almost nothing goofy or funny any more. The only way anything like that passes the mods is if the poster pretends to be clueless.
The mods obviously play favorites. They like some registered users and hate others. That's what happens when you elevate regular posters to be in charge. Probably 99% of posts break some rule somehow. The only real rule is who do the mods hate enough to punish.
Being a registered user is bad enough with the waves of focused hate that can come from other posters. If it comes from mods too, then what is the point of being registered? Particularly when the mods are anonymous.
Agree, in my case, I think a grudgy mod banned a Comcast address of mine permanently based on my IP and their memory of my previous posts from that IP as the thread for which I was banned was anonymous and clearly a genuine post that the mod considered “spam” and never responded to my email asking why my post simply asking for advice on cholesterol would be considered spam enough to warrant a ban that expires “Never”.
The Brojos have said they don't know how to contact their mods. They probably don't know who half their mods are.
Mods deleting threads for personal reasons affects the Brojo's bottom line. They put in a lot of work hoping to make this site profitable, but random or spiteful deletion of threads has cost them their Google rankings.
I did a professional SEO analysis of this site the other day and found that LetsRun have lost two thirds of their organic search traffic in little more than two years.
And now the mods will delete this in case the Brojos see it.

I don’t know what an SEO analysis is, but two thirds sounds like a lot. When will the brothers take action?

What does that even mean? They own the site.
I asked exactly the same question on this thread a couple of weeks ago. Someone has claimed the brothers have said they do not know how to contact the moderators. This is not true, I hope the brothers will post something and put it to rest.
By my count, at least three threads about the voting in Ohio yesterday have been deleted in the space of a few hours. (And I realize that this post may be, too.)
Why? IIRC the threads were not defamatory but more "just the news, ma'am." But evidently one or more mods just didn't want the topic discussed.
I actually apologise for what I wrote in this thread. It was when I was going through a bad time and it was inaccurate. Sorry, and I take it back! I am sure the brojos can sort out the moderation issues without outside input, aside from anything else.

In my case, I moved to a new place and would out the new IP I was given was banned by LRC for racist comments. That was 10 years ago. Years ago, I tried to get the IP off the ban list and received no reply from the brojos. That tells me it was easier for them to retain the IP ban than to try to fix it. I use a VPN and several IPs have been banned, likely by other users of the VPN. There are several ancient reasons given for the ban, such as "You are not allowed to post links," and "Unauthorized scrapping detected" ... the later which prevents LRC from loading at all.
The point is, the brojos and mods are too lazy to clean out ancient bans which no longer apply to the person they originally banned. A few times a year, LRC needs to wipe the slate clean on ancient, pointless IP bans. But, they have no interest in doing so.

That is likely an attempt to absolve themselves of any legal liability for posts made and content removal. "Someone else moderates the boards, we are not responsible --signed, the brojos." Sorry to tell them that that is not a workable legal defense to absolve them from liability.
Also, note that rojo himself has posted several times that he had the mods restore a deleted thread because he found the topic interesting. So much for not knowing how to get to the mods.
Normallly, we don't like threads complaining about moderation but I've restored this thread as I think it's an interesting one. We've spent a lot of time trying to make moderation quicker and better, but some thing it's gone too far. I have the ability to read deleted posts and have to admit I often am laughing at some of the posts that mods have deleted as I found them to be quite clever / funny but they found them to be not worthy of the site.
Why don't you keep the World Famous Message Board and add a read-only blog?

Take care.
it's all good! I feel for people who've been banned for no reason. Unfortunately, because it's the internet it's easy to ignore requests and people even if they are acting in good faith and not trolling. Trolls should be banned. I have seen this happen with subreddits too. Some of it is auto-modding/botting as well.
