The framers put in place the electoral college to stop people like trump but the electoral college won't do that. I saw an episode of Anderson Cooper's "Whole Story" series on abortion. Many anti-abortion activists believe they are fighting the most important moral battle since the end of slavery, and think they are like the abolitionists in the 19th century. I think it's the same way with anti-LGBTQ people, and anti-immigration people.
