I'm not counting those vaccines. I had the MMR, polio, etc vaccines but I've never had a covid jab. Instead, I have great natural immunity from being infected - it was just a cold for me. I also haven't taken a flu jab since 2020 and don't plan on taking another.

so far we've learned about the speaker that

1/ he has no checking account or investments to be reported. None.

2/as a 25 year old he 'took custody' of a 14-year old boy in some kind of arrangement.

OK, so at best, you have a silly "pride" about not being vaccinated for COVID.

At worst, you're a tiny piece of an utterly ignorant effort to convince people that those evil doctors and scientists were and are out to get them. And it worked on millions of morans. And at least tens of thousands of them probably unnecessarily died as a result. Awesome.

It would be interesting to ask a bunch of heterosexual (supposedly) homophobes if they could ever imagine being TALKED OUT OF being heterosexuals?

Whats Up With Mike Johnsons Very ShadySeeming Financial Disclosures

In the week since Mike Johnson was elected Speaker of the House, we’ve learned a tremendous amount about the Louisiana Republican, and virtually none of it has been good. For instance, the man the GOP just elevated to one of the most powerful jobs in the federal government tried to help Donald Trump steal a second term, is virulently antiabortion, thinks America doesn’t have a gun problem, very possibly does not believe in evolution, definitely doesn’t believe in separation of church and state, has claimed homosexuality is “sinful” and “destructive,” and is married to someone who founded a company that equates being gay with bestiality and incest. And now, for something totally different, we’ve learned the new House Speaker…doesn’t have any bank accounts listed on his financial disclosure forms.

The Daily Beast reports that in financial disclosures dating back to 2016, the year he joined Congress, Johnson never reported having a savings or checking account in his name, his spouse’s name, or in the name of any of his children. In his latest filing, which covers last year, he doesn’t list a single asset either. Which, given that he made more than $200,000 last year—in addition to his wife’s salary—is more than a little odd.

Very few members of Congress are actual idiots, and Mike Johnson demonstrated this truth again when he was asked whether the House will impeach JRB. He said the usual weasel-word thing ("We'll go where the evidence leads," etc.) without actually committing to an impeachment--because, so far, the evidence doesn't lead to anything approaching a high crime or misdemeanor.

But he said it in such a way that the typical double-digit IQer could reasonably infer that, "Oh boy, Biden's gonna get it!" The MAGA faithful never understood why DJT was being impeached, either time, and never wanted to, so they see the prospect of a Biden impeachment as simply tit-for-tat. And of course that plays into the GOP's efforts at both-sidesism, which is especially important to them now when President Trump is facing so much litigation.

But, again: With very rare exceptions the GOPers in Congress are not actual idiots. They're aware of how Bill Clinton's popularity rebounded after the Republicans impeached him and he was easily acquitted; unless they've got President Biden dead to rights on something, I doubt that they'll actually follow through with an organized impeachment effort. The contrast between an easy Biden acquittal and multiple Trump convictions would not help their cause.

Today's History of Science Lesson for the Morans (anti-vaxers, in this case):

1) The human brain has been about as big for hundreds of thousands of years.

2) BUT, depending on how you count, it took until just a few hundred years ago for the smartest of humans to understand that simple human "intuition" doesn't work very well for figuring out the world, including biology.

3) So.....SCIENCE! Not intuition, SCIENCE! Be MUCH more sure that what you think about the world is accurate.

4) Outcome: HUGE improvements in what we understand about the world, including biology.

5) Second Outcome: Morans who (very selectively) ignore that collected wisdom and INSIST on "figuring things out" the old-fashioned way!!! A return to intuitive ignorance !!! No, no, we INSIST !!! Fu** the shoulders of all of those scientists and doctors, WE know better !!!

(Note, as alluded to above: You WILL find those same morans going to the pharmacy and the doctor.....and having received previous vaccinations; selective wisdom)
