The last piece of Trump's total destruction of the Republican party is now in place with cult devotee Mike Johnson. The MA'GA cult celebrating the selection of far right extremist Johnson reminds me of the people partying on the titanic on its first cross Atlantic voyage.

Mike Johnson has been pretty clear that he thinks the laws of this country and and its elected officials should all be in strict adherence to the literal passages in the bible. In fact actually he has things in common with the Iran Ayatollahs. They both believe in a theocracy. They both want laws to strictly adhere to their religions. They both are totally intolerant of the allowance of gay rights and self determination of pregnancy termination.

Johnson is so far out of the mainstream that, as people find out more about him, they will run from him and his party. The cult just doesn't learn.

The other Trump destructive influence is that his legal entanglements are increasing and he is getting increasingly more unhinged and is often just confused. He might be loved by the cult but to most others he is hated. He will lost his attempt at re-election.

But the Republicans have Nikki Haley who would readily beat Bidden (I believe) but the Republican cult will stay with Trump because that is what cult members do.

Every politician that has had feverish desires to regulate and dictate what other people do with their genitalia in their own privacy has proven to have dark secrets that eventually come out. Religious bible pounding zeal only multiplies the red flags.

When these types get into the spotlight with so many eyeballs on their lives things do not turn out well for them.

it's very hard for a republican to win the WH...they basically have to pull a royal flush. It happens, but a lot of things have to fall into place. With trump, it worked because of his magnetic appeal in ma'aga land. They turned up to vote. Would they turn up to vote for Haley? I really don't think so. They'd lose interest in politics and just not vote. Without trump there is no GOP. It's all him. No him, no WH.

Yeah, but joedlrts has told us that the government sucks at doing anything better than the private sector. So why is the government all of a sudden better than the private sector when it comes to women's reproductive health?

Republicans simply cannot manage running our government. Bush2 was an incompetent nepo-baby and basically ruined the world by invading Iraq, Trump is an insurrectionist and criminal and Repubs in the senate cannot even manage to allow the armed forces to have leaders. Pentagon officials have been frustrated for months over an Alabama senator’s blockade of more than 300 senior military nominations. But after the Marine Corps chief was hospitalized over the weekend, that frustration is turning into rage.

Gen. Eric Smith had been filling both the No. 1 and No. 2 Marine Corps posts from July until he was finally confirmed as commandant in September. He, along with more than 300 other senior officers, was swept up in the promotions blockade put in place by GOP Sen. Tommy Tuberville in protest of the Pentagon’s abortion travel policy.

Once Smith was hospitalized on Sunday following a “medical emergency,” a three-star general had to take over his role. The job of assistant commandant is still vacant.

“This is outrageous,” said a senior DOD official, who like others interviewed for this story was granted anonymity to speak about a sensitive topic. “I cannot help but think — because at the end of the day, Eric Smith is a human — that Tuberville’s unnecessary stress that he’s put on the situation where you don’t have a backup … has added a level of complexity and danger to an already bad situation.”

In an interview Wednesday, Tuberville brushed off the comments.

WASHINGTON — A then-Princeton University student who yelled "drag them out" while he joined rioters trying to storm the Capitol was sentenced to two months in federal prison on Wednesday, according to court records.
Larry Giberson pleaded guilty to a felony over the summer, admitting that he obstructed, impeded, or interfered with law enforcement officers in the lawful performance of their official duties. Giberson was a sophomore during the Jan. 6 attack, when he "participated in coordinated pushing and pulling against the police," according to a government sentencing memo and at one point even chanted “drag them out!” as rioters assaulted officers.

They have irrefutable evidence of the James Biden money laundering scheme. The best part is that the "Big Guy" no longer needed the money in 2017-2018. By any metric Biden should be reelected, but the average voter is not rational. There are a number of young voters who are very turned off by Bidens age. I think Nikki would get the independents and many female and some young voters. Republicans who hate Biden would vote.

Without Trump there will be less Republicans voting, true, but there will be less Democrats voting who only vote because they hate Trump.

Nikki is soulless and she would promise trumpers anything including Trump pardons, to get their votes. But she comes off as knowledgeable and normal. I think she would beat Biden but it's just a hypothetical.
