I don't wanna say it because it's kinda harsh, but: To every half-successfull runtuber (or just runner) starting coaching people: I applaud the hussle, but coaching people is totally different than coaching yourself. To be a good coach you need so much more than some impressive PR. And don't get it twisted, probably more than half of your students are actually taking your courses because they wanna be friends with you, not because they think you're the bees knee's of coaching. They just like you want to get more personal interractions. That's it.
Mica Wood is a dime, but her boyfriend is an ineffective broccoli haired child who will never qualify for the Olympics. She needs to fire him as a couch and boyfriend.
I understand it involves 48 hours of careful bottle labeling, measuring different nutrients into said bottles with scientific precision, followed by frantically pooping at Mile 17 in a disgusting porta potty, getting the cold sweats real bad, and then puking every mile, on the mile, from Miles 23 onwards.
Kofuzi seems unlikely to get near his Tokyo marathon pb again with his current training mentality so it makes sense that no one wants to sponsor a dud result.
Laugh of the Day! Gotta admit this animation by Gnoza is pretty spot on for the state of some "Influencer Running" these days:
From what I saw on several IG comments and some comments on Youtube: when people congratulated Kofuzi for a "new 5km PR" he didn't correct them though. He did admit in his recap that the course was probably short of 5km, but then he extrapolated a pace/time off of the 2.99 mile value on his GPS watch. I commented that if your GPS/Strava shows something like "2.99 miles" then actually there's a good chance the course was really (Jones Wheel measure) probably more like 2.90 miles (didn't run perfect tangents, GPS isn't that accurate on an "out and back" U-turn etc). That's way over 1-min + difference at his kind of pace. Probably worth a 19:mid for a real 5km.
Kofuzi keeps throwing in his age all of a sudden as if he has 20 years of high mileage which is now causing his decline.
He has time, he has free shoes, his job is running, he is low on Lifetime miles, he should be faster than he is. He is simply training appallingly
Can we please get David Roche as Floberg’s coach? Everyone here would lose their minds over videos of Floberg doing heat and high carb gut training.
The only issue is there is no BPN high carb mix. Well, that and Floberg/BPN probably are too red hat coded.
Speaking of, did anyone hear about the new BPN drop? It's groundbreaking. Never been done before. It's a testament to Nick Bare's dedication to the GRINDSET: building an empire, inspiring the masses to reach new levels of performance hitherto unseen in the realm of endurance sport.
It's....G1M with caffeine. $1.60 per serving. You're welcome, tiny boys.
One of the newer ShoeTubers has a new video out where he rambles on about the carbon-fibre rear wing, downforce and the oversized diffuser on his new 2016 Dodge Viper race car.
He does wear a sweet pair of black-on-grey Nike AF1s in the video, though.
Oh, and there was a 15-second clip of him drinking water at his PT's office.

Floberg is going to be puking in fast motion after this drop.

Just an excuse. He did well to get sub 3 but just doesn't have the desire any more. He's grown tired of his job so now just phoning it in.
I can imagine it feels pretty stifling to be on a channel that celebrates mediocrity so much. The guy Tom keeps getting more screentime and he very clearly does the bare minimum in training, he couldn't even manage a to improve on a 28:00 5k PB after a month of "training" structured for him by professionals.
I'm all for content for beginner runners, but when someone never actually improves over and over again it's just annoying to see the same story peddled in new videos.

I think it's a sort of common problem for the entry level 'tips, tricks, and training' type influencers. (Outside of the fact that you wonder how much some of these people actually like running given how little they do in the time that have to do it in). A lot of people are going for their target market being entry level runners, nothing wrong with that, but if you follow all the tips properly you should (along with your viewers) progress from there. But if you progress too much you leave behind the target market, and then there's a load more pressure on you to either get really good or be a lot more interesting than the competition - and a lot of people baulk at those two options so stick with being slow. There are a lot of influencers sitting in this category that irk me slightly - getting sponsored places at big events, doing 12 week 'training blocks', filming themselves doing a "track workout with international athlete Anya Culling" to pull a 5 1/2 - 6 hour marathon, or a 32:00 5K on "race" day.
I can see why Mo would want to go somewhere else to tell more performance focused stories - I imagine the water cooler chats with someone who trains like a chump and is unwilling to try particularly hard at any of it gets frustrating after a while.
Since his epic "fail" at McKirdy when he honestly thought he would get 2:28 or something ridiculous he has been in panic mode.
He doesnt understand that most of his gains post breaking 3 (when he started loving running) came by simply being consistent. Something he'd never been before.
He thinks knocking 10 mins off a PR every marathon is what happens. He doesnt understand why he's running more than ever, throwing up after every workout and yet not destroying his PR.
Grandmas is a waste of time. As was that marathon he ran a month or so back. He could have had 2 or 3 months of solid work under his belt. Either tons of really easy mileage or mixed things up and did the classic YouTuber "Summer of Speed" but he has wasted 3 months or more of training.
Looks like he wants to go solo with his content. Interesting decision, it's a pretty crowded space now.
He is a model also. I have seen him on Sportshoes or StartFitness modelling clothes.
He seemed one of the only Running Channel people who actually ran more than 30k a week
They did a funny video the other week on double threshold. I think about 0.5% of TRC viewers would even be in a position to understand this never mid start doing it
Along with Andy, he seemed like one of the only few smart, articulate people on that channel.
It will be interesting to see what angle he takes. Also, his first video was titled "I've Left the Running Channel" and then he just did a Q&A and seemingly did not talk about why he left. What a great way to annoy people in your first video.
Curiously looking at the video description, he is still shilling Runna! I wonder if he honestly uses it!
