Right, because actual statistics might get in the way of the narrative that you *want* to be true.
I know multiple people, upper middle class (between 250-400k) who don't spend much money, who have been saving like crazy the past couple of years because of how sh!tty the economy is. Homelessness is out of control, and even normal families (think the average, $70k income) are struggling because of sky-high prices.
An anecdote can be interesting, and certainly provides a data point. But one person's anecdotal experience is not the economy.
I make less than $70k, in New York City no less, and we're getting by fine. And my personal anecdotal experience *also* is not the economy. We need official stats to see how the *national* economy is going.
We're going to have another Great Recession soon.
You may be right. Indicators are mixed, and it certainly doesn't look like everything is beer and skittles for the economy. But, from the data currently available, I certainly don't see another Great Recession as a given.
