This exchange summarized: the Republican implies blacks commit more crime but isn't willing to say it outright as that'll get him banned, while the Democrat doesn't acknowledge crime in Democratic cities.
As an independent I'm amused.
Of course, since it's never "Independents" (I) running the show(es), it's not REALLY that amusing.....
While on the campaign train over the weekend, former President Trump confused Iowa and South Dakota and he falsely claimed Hungary and Russia share a border. The Morning Joe panel discusses.

And make no mistake, that's not me "both-siding" it. The Rs trying to destroy the essence of this country is near-infinitely worse than overly-tolerant (and overly-judgemental) liberals. As much as the latter has freakin' annoyed me most of my life, and to this day.
If I’m not mistaken, Trump and the GOP promised that their huge deficit producing billionaire tax cut was supposed to trickle down to Trumpers. Those tax cuts are still in place but nothing trickled down to Trumpers. Our right wingers are bellyaching about how things are dire even though corporations are making a killing.
do you think it’s possible Trumpers were duped by supply side economics again?
And yet a "Democrat run" city like NYC, with a far higher percentage of black residents, has lower crime rates (in all seven major categories) than the GOP-run state of Ohio.
So how do you figure? Or is it just a question of moving the goalposts?

I agree with most of that. I’d disagree with the claim of ‘GOP run cities’ bejng better though - that’s not really a thing, unless you count third-tier regional large towns that aren’t really cities. kudos for bravery tho.
Data showing Jordan and other Ohioans that their state is more dangerous on a per capita basis than New York City probably won’t change any minds, said Jeffrey Butts, a research professor at the John Jay College of Criminal J...
Fifteen safest cities in the US, according to Forbes.
Honolulu, Hawaii Virginia Beach, Virginia Henderson, Nevada El Paso, Texas New York City San Diego, California Mesa, Arizona Charlotte, North Carolina San Jose, California Boston, Massachusetts Raleigh, North Carolina Arlington, Texas Santa Ana, California Omaha, Nebraska Austin, Texas.
1. NYC is the massive exception for multiple reasons: it's VHCOL so many criminals have been priced out, and a lot of the black population of NYC is middle class and/or immigrants.
2. Ohio had 1020 homicides in 2021, according to the CDC. Cleveland had 165 homicides, Columbus had 204, Cincinnati had 94 homicides, and Toledo had 70. These cities - all Democrat-run, combined for 52% of Ohio's homicides. Ohio had 11.78 million people in 2021, and these cities have: 367k (Cleveland), 906k (Columbus), 308k (Cincinnati), 268k (Toledo). So, the combined population is 1.849 million people: these cities are 15% of Ohio's population but have over half of homicides...

I get a kick out of Trumpers believing inner city crime is a result of whether the mayor is Republican or Democrat.
Everything is so simplistic when you live in the right wing world. (More guns, Ban abortion, Prayer back in school, stop wokeism). Complex problems are solved with one sentence catch phrase solutions.
Bill O Reilly, Hannity, Alex Jones and Tucker all have had simplistic solutions that sound so logical and catchy. Until they get put into office and then not so much.
What the large MA'GA faction of the Republican believe and don't believe:
They don't believe the scientists reports about global warming and the danger to our environment.
They didn't believe health officials and scientists about the dangers of COVID. They don't believe any COVID vaccine is effective and safe despite research.
They don't believe our justice systems and FBI telling us that Trump was treated justly and fairly in all his indictments.
They don't believe reports from major media outlets and they don't think the teachings from higher education is good for this country.
They don't believe that Putin is a real bad guy who is the unjustified aggressor in the attack on Ukraine.
They don't believe all the former Trump supporters such as Bill Bar and John Kelly and Michael Cohen and countless others who say Trump is a lying narcissist.
They don't believe all the Republican election officials and courts that say Trump fairly lost the election.
But TRUMP............ they believe!?
Here is the pop psychology explanation.
Trumpers see themselves in Trump. He made it acceptable to be a horrible person by getting elected to the presidency while being a horrible person. (Or at least that's what they believe.)
So when Trump is attacked for being a horrible person, they feel like they are attacked for being horrible persons. They believe Trump because they believe in themselves.
Funny thing is that Trump does NOT see himself in Trumpers. He believes they are despicable, and has even privately admitted that. But Trumpers dismiss the reporting as "fake news", because well, that's just another attack on THEM.
