I do not mind the theater about deporting illegal aliens. I mean, I know we cannot afford to fly millions of aliens, but I also realize he is just flying a few of them for propaganda TV spots, and I don't mind that. I think part of the effort is about perception.
I do not mind the concept of reducing the government, but I think it is folly to just cut jobs without a plan. The idea of just letting things fall apart seems likely to lead to increased corruption--just like the idea of firing Inspectors General seems like a path to increased corruption. I don't see how that helps.
But the idea of cutting research funding, and cutting foreign aid, both seem like gifts to China and the BRIC countries, in cutting our scientific research and in reducing our leverage in foreign affairs, so I'm having trouble seeing how either of those helps the US at all.
Clearly he has made a disaster in air traffic, and clearly his inability to lead is getting a real spotlight at the moment--his inability to deal with disasters without spouting a lot of partisan blame vitriol instead of actually looking at helping the situation is pretty sad.

I feel like this can be justified on the basis that fighting climate change is difficult and expensive, and it is much easier to just grab the oil and the profits for now, and leave difficult topics for adults to work on later.

The airplane was on a perfect and routine line of approach to the airport. The helicopter was going straight at the airplane for an extended period of time. It is a CLEAR NIGHT, the lights on the plane were blazing, why didn’t the helicopter go up or down, or turn. Why didn’t the control tower tell the helicopter what to do instead of asking if they saw the plane. This is a bad situation that looks like it should have been prevented. NOT GOOD!!!
