It's just a useful title. Nobody says you have to revere someone.

Fair point but my guess is that more people typically have Saturday off than those who have Tuesday off. Another consideration would be to keep polls open for several days or a whole week. That maybe expensive though.

There are a lot of people, salt of the earth, that work on Saturdays. Plus, people need to be with their kids and support their activities on the weekends.
